FUNDING POINT – FUNDING SERVICES INVENTORY – UPDATED COACHING PLAYBOOK
In preparation for 2025, I began a review of my coaching business and a review of the services that I have been providing. With a continued decrease in funding from companies across the capital board, from venture capital to private equity funds to angels to investment crowdfunding, raising funding promises to get harder. In addition, there is a continued climb in the pricing of Bitcoin (an unfunded, non-asset cryptocurrency), distracting investors from funding businesses. This is capped with a new presidential administration making short-term and long-ranging impacts on almost everything, and it would see that we have a perfect storm for anyone raising funding.
Throughout 2024, I published this Instant Funding newsletter and produced my Successful Funding show while achieving the commercial viability of CAP, my AI Knowledge Avatar. This engagement with communications with small businesses, communities, and other service providers reinforced my thoughts on my Motivated Money Method for raising funding but also revealed gaps and weaknesses in the development of hands-on tools, templates, and techniques for raising funding. There remains substantial work in matching advice with the business stage and dollar level of funding, making investment crowdfunding work for all of us average (non-wealthy) people, and creating quantifiable impact metrics for use by small businesses and community projects for use by investors instead of single-dimensional investment selection based solely upon return on investment (ROI).
As much work as I see is needed on the raising money side of the investment transaction, there appears to be a greater need on the investor side of the investment transaction. I have been told by many investor candidates, from the average person to the ultra-wealthy, that help is needed. These people hold a tremendous amount of money, and investment funds cannot find enough good investment opportunities. The few opportunities that are investment-ready command premium pricing. The vast majority of opportunities are imperfect, needing not only funding but also management, innovation, or other work to realize the opportunity they present fully. Without help, these opportunities and the benefits of their commercialization may go unrealized.
