Funding Opportunity: HRSA Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program (BHWET) for Professionals

The HRSA-25-068 BHWET Program for Professionals offers up to $600,000 annually to strengthen the behavioral health workforce, with a focus on supporting children, adolescents, and young adults facing mental health, trauma, and behavioral challenges. This grant prepares students for high-demand areas by enhancing training in interprofessional, team-based care models and integrating behavioral health into primary care settings. Clinical supervisor training and digital health literacy are also key aspects.

?? Program Requirements:

• Provide stipend support for students in final field placements (6-12 months; up to 24 months part-time).
• Develop training that integrates behavioral health in primary care, schools, and sub-specialty care.
• Create or improve evidence-based interprofessional training for faculty and supervisors.
• Utilize distance learning and tele-behavioral health options to increase digital health literacy.
• Partner with community-based organizations for post-graduation job placement.

Eligibility: Accredited institutions with field placements in mental health; doctoral, internship, and residency programs in health service psychology; and master’s/doctoral programs in social work. Academic-clinical partnerships and consortia can apply, with FQHCs, RHCs, and hospitals eligible as consortium members.
