The Importance of the Origin will be Imported by the Origin of the Substance is a 3D video installation by the cartoonist, painter, and video artist Mónica Heller. Featuring characters that appear to spring from dreamworlds and children’s stories, Heller’s immersive installation comes together with paradoxical vignettes imbued with humor and absurdity. The Pavilion is curated by Alejo Ponce de León with Paula Vázquez serving as commissioner.

Persona by artist Gerardo Goldwasser interweaves art, tailoring and violence predicated upon the artist’s family history and trauma: Goldwasser’s grandfather was a tailor and Holocaust survivor who was saved in the concentration camps because of his ability to sew Nazi uniforms. The presentation pays homage to the artist’s family and reflects upon the role of measurement, tailoring and standardization inherent to human identity and appearances. The Pavilion is curated by Laura Malosetti Costa and Pablo Uribe with y Silvana Bergson serving as commissioner.
