Functions of the Management Process

The management process is critical because it enables organizations to align business functions with customer needs, and helps executives determine how to deploy, monitor and measure company resources. When properly executed. Effective application of the management process has the ability to enhance efficiency and productivity, reduce costs, and minimize errors and risk.

The four functions of the management process are planning (deciding where to take the company and steps to get there), Organizing (bringing together physical, human, and financial resources to achieve objectives), Leading (managing and motivating people), and Controlling (monitoring and evaluating activities).
