Job Title: Functional Safety Engineering Manager

Location: Indian Propulsion Engineering Center, Bangalore

Major Job Responsibilities:

• Build, develop and Lead the Functional Safety team by providing technical and process guidance on ISO26262 standards and by doing hands on.
• Guide the team in performing HARA and derive safety Goals, Developing Functional Safety Concept and deriving Functional Safety Requirements for Transmission, Inverter, DC-DC converter and other Power Electronics Sub-Systems.
• Technically guide the Team in developing Technical Safety Concept, and deriving Technical Safety Requirements, Hardware Safety Requirements and Software Safety Requirements for Transmission, Inverter DC-DC converter, and other Power Electronics Sub-Systems.
• Technically guidance in developing System Design for Transmission, Inverter and other Power Electronics Sub-Systems using Matlab tools.
• Assist in performing SFMEA, FTA as per part 4(ISO26262), performing FMEDA, DFMEA, DFA as per part 5(ISO26262) in Medini, performing DFA as per part 6(ISO26262)
• Responsible for meeting headcount and budget targets for Functional safety
• Collaborate with other teams like System Architecture, Requirements Engineering, Simulations & Validation, controls development on timelines and processes
• Stimulate teamwork attitude, support career growth and professional development of all team members.
• Interface with experts across the globe and streamline the workflow for the team.
• Perform change management with the customer and internally.
• Manage employee performance, compensation & engagement, provide candid & constructive feedback and develop direct reports.
• Lead organizational level initiatives with respect to People, Process, Technology & Innovation IPEC Major Job Qualifications Experience:
• Deep Expertise in Functional Safety (Minimum 10 years of experience in FS, Developing TSC, FSR, TSR, HSR and SSR).
• Good Experience in ISO26262 external audit, Functional safety assessment, confirmation reviews,
• Good experience in delivering part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6 work products of ISO26262 (Minimum of 5 years’ experience)
• Significant experience in handling customers and leading teams.
• Fair knowledge on microcontrollers, its On-chip peripherals and ASICs
• Deep knowledge and hands on experience in power electronics controllers used for Onboard Charger, inverter management, motor maneuvering & position sensing and DC-DC conversion.
• Ability to embrace and drive change with respect to technology and process and inculcate innovation culture within Systems Engineering organization.
• Demonstrate excellent inter-personal, communication skills and demonstrate Integrity.
• Cyber security knowledge is an added advantage.
