Function of Gearbox in Marine
The functions of gears in Marine gearboxes are mainly as follows:
1, Acceleration and deceleration, which is often said to be a variable speed gearbox.
2. Change the direction of the transmission. For example, we can use two sectoring gears to transfer the force vertically to another rotation shaft.
3, Change the moment of rotation. Under the same power conditions, the faster the speed of the gear, its shaft on the torque is less, vice versa, the greater.
4, Clutch function: we can separate the two originally meshing gears to achieve the purpose of separating the engine from the load. For example, like brake clutch and so on.
5. Distribute momentum. For example, we can use an engine to drive multiple longitudinal axes through the gearbox spindle, so as to achieve the function of an engine driving multiple loads.
