What a fun and interesting way to start the Auckland Writers Festival | Waituhi o Tāmaki with a wet plate collodion process photograph by Adrian Cook at Tintype Central. Thank you AWF for this unique experience. What I didn't know is that this process is a 19th-century method of development that predates film photography! Amazing!! What I also learned is that this process was hugely popular in the US, especially during the Civil War between 1861-1865.

2 年Harold Hillman, PhD, I have a book Called The Colour of Time which has an extensive selection of photos form the 1850s to 1960, many taken using the collodion method, and brought up to date by being digitally colourised. It's quite spectacular!
