(Fun) With Robots

I'm having a good time working with some of my Loughborough colleagues (Dr. Tiziana Callari and Dr. Ella-Mae Hubbard) working on the issues of human-robotic interaction, and how they can be communicated to the innocent people who encounter a two metre tall robot helping their gran across the road.

This has led to me spending time reading ISO 1070 (it's relevant, but it is sooo long), and meeting with the Health and Safety executive to ask them about how humans and robots fare when you bring them together (really don't ask).

Working out how to make this all real and meaningful to people is just the funnest graphics challenge that a sci-fi loveing boy designer could ever have (I got to tour the Loughborough robotics labs).

If you would be interested in helping out, Tiziana is running a 5 minute survey about attitudes to human-robot interaction here: https://forms.office.com/e/cMHybbQVTV. We'd like to hear more.

Keep well.

Meanwhile, the bulk of R&D is developing killer robots, many of which are being “battle tested” on defenceless civilians in Gaza.
