Fun-fuelled February is here!

Fun-fuelled February is here!

Think things are settling down again after Christmas and New Year? Think again! ?

Despite this month being shorter than the others (29 days this year), February is jam-packed with events, activities and not forgetting: February Half-Term. ?

Here are some reminders of February’s notable events: ?

  • Chinese New Year (10th) - it’s the year of the dragon. The dragon represents power, nobility, vigour and luck – so it ought to bring good fortune. HERE are the best Chinese restaurants in London to ensure you celebrate in style.
  • February Half-Term (12th – 16th for most, though dates may depend on individual schools) – yep they’re back from school already. Don’t worry; we’ve put together some helpful suggestions to entertain them in our latest blog. Read ‘Half-Term is creeping up fast!’ HERE
  • Shrove Tuesday (13th) - avoid a flipping disaster on Pancake Day by going out for pancakes this year. HERE are the best pancakes in London
  • Valentine’s (14th) - left it to the last minute? There might still be restaurants with tables available HERE or leave it to the Consider it Done team to secure you a special dinner reservation. (Or, if you’re flying solo this year for V-Day, there’s an abundance of activities to explore HERE.)
  • Leap Year – there’s an additional day in February 2024 (29th). Will you be the one to pop the question? HERE is some inspiration from other strong-willed, independent women who have been there and done that.
  • February H&H (House and Home) focuses on de-cluttering – which is apparently the most dreaded ‘life-min’ task, put off as long as possible. Read on for our De-clutter Masterclass to motivate and embolden action.

CiD clients can reach out to their lifeline (a.k.a. the Consider it Done team) for organising last-minute February Half-Term activities, arranging Valentine’s Day roses. Or - do you know how much to insure your diamonds for? We know accredited valuers and gemmologists.

CiD’s De-Clutter Masterclass

For those who regularly WFH, family clutter can be quite a distraction, as well as a source of additional stress. It’s hard to feel calm and composed working in a chaotic environment. ?

Clutter can hinder your ability to find things quickly – papers, a charging cable, or reading glasses: right at the very moment you need them in a hurry. ?

A background full of family detritus can also undermine the professional image you’re trying to portray during work video calls, and it’s also harder to make a clearly defined distinction between home-life and work-life because ‘stuff’ can blur these boundaries. ?

Plus: if you’re prone to allergies, cluttered spaces can be a source of dust accumulation and exacerbate respiratory problems. ?

Having the time to tackle the clutter however, is another thing altogether. ?

With really not very long before the children are back for Half-Term, we’ve put together a De-Clutter Masterclass enabling you to ‘power through’ this important part of managing your House and Home for the whole family’s benefit. ?

Networking events for high-achieving professional women in 2024:

A non-negotiable for all high-achieving professionals is effective networking. In fact, one study conducted by Chief found that 80% of women leaders use networking events to drive career success, while also building broader operational and revenue benefits for their organisations in parallel. ?

Though with such limited time available, it’s essential that any networking is seen as an investment, with a clear ROI. ?

With this in mind, we’ve gathered some prominent networking events and programmes for senior professional women in London being run during 2024.

Can’t we just go back to simple cake and pizza birthday parties?

Scary Mommy Sarah Aswell thinks so.

“For us, it’s just been little surprises. We blew up a bunch of balloon for him to wake up to this morning. We surprised him with decorating the house while he was sleeping. We got super-fun donuts. Things that don’t cost a lot of money but make him so happy. And I felt 5% of the stress that I’ve felt on previous birthdays and my kid is just as happy.”

If you’ve got February birthdays, your vote might be a ‘yes’ too!
