FUN FASHION FRIDAY - "LEGITIMACY"

In the arts production world (like photography wk), obtaining "Legitimacy" (being considered a legitimate professional to contract) can be a very fickle & tricky thing. It should be based on the quality of output work shown, experience, integrity, & how well one treats their clients. But it is rather often based on some subjective, circumstantial, & other 'intangibles',...like whoever people decide are "the ones" everyone is "supposed" to go to for various reasons. For example, some (if they bother to read my post) might ascribe "legitimacy" to me as a photographer just based on the fact that I photo'ed my model posted here,..which is none other than Madelyn "Maddie" Cline aka now known as Sarah on the Netflix Outer Banks series, or Whisky in the new movie Glass Onion with Daniel Craig. So because I happenned to know & photo "star" Maddie, "they" might ascribe a touch of extra "legitimacy" to my work. Actually these photos (though endearing) are at least a decade old, & I am a much better photographer today than I was then. When I first met Maddie, she was a quiet dark haired (yep thats her natural) dark eyed 7 yr old just starting out with Millie Lewis Modeling. Her Mom later had me do a cpl of shoots with Maddie when she was 12 & 13 as she was just "getting going" good. Of course I'll take all the "legitimacy" anyone will ascribe to me,...but I'd rather people ascribe it from quality of work, experience, integrity, & well treatment of clients, rather than circumstantial perceptions.
