The most popular one is related to Holika Dahen. the story centers around the arroganet king who wanted everyone to worship him. But his son Prahlad refused to warship him and worship lord Vishnu. The king attempted many times to kill his son but failed. In last the king's sister Holikawho is said to be immune to burning, sit with prahlad in the fire. However, Prahlad emerges live and holika burns to death. That's why with her name it is called "Holika Dahan".

This is the must visit place if you really want to feel this festival vibrant. Here holi is celebrated with flowers and called Phool Wali Holi or Flower Holi. Mathura is a place where Lord krishna's birth place and Vrindavan, the place where he was raised. On this festival, all temples are decorated beautifully and people throw buckets full of flowers and dry colours on one another and chant Radhe- Radhe.


LathMaarHoli in Barsane: 

This is a small town located near Mathure and also associated with Lord Karishna. Here Holi is celebrated in a unique way 'LathMaarHoli'. Women use a lath or bamboo stick to beat their husband or person who comes to throw water or colour.


Elephant Festival and Holi in Jaipur: 

Another unique style to celebrate Holi in Rajasthan's capital Jaipur. This 'Elephant Festival' take place a day before Holi. On this day, elephants are led in a magnificent, procession through the streets of Jaipur and are later involved in various entertaining activities like polo, elephant races and a tug of war. The festival is huge draw for turists to the city.
