Life often surprises us with its twists and turns. I was stunned when I received an invitation to speak at the 61st District Court of Grand Rapids. As someone who once navigated the dangerous streets of Chicago, caught up in gangs and drugs, standing here today as a symbol of hope and transformation feels surreal.
My journey from the south side of Chicago to becoming an award-winning educator and founder of Culture Of Belonging Global has been humbling. My story is a testament to the power of resilience, education, and the human spirit. I’ve dedicated my life to transforming workplace exclusion into a Culture of Belonging, creating environments where everyone is valued and included.
Tomorrow, I have the honor of addressing the judicial system of Grand Rapids. The decision to close the entire district for my presentation underscores the importance of this message. I aim to inspire judges, district attorneys, magistrates, and dedicated employees who oversee proceedings from garnishments to foreclosures.
This moment holds profound significance for me. I'll never forget standing in court as they read me my rights. Tomorrow, I will stand there sharing in court what is right. I will bring my story, insightful strategies, and passionate commitment to fostering inclusion to the forefront.
