We hosted Tejas Rane, Founder of Affiliate Corner for an Ask-Me-Anything session over our Slack community on 16th August.
Best excerpts from the Q&As are below:
Q: What is your take on programmatic SEO? Do you think Google/Search engines would start penalizing such hacks or do you see it flourishing?
A: I don't think Google will penalize programmatic SEO websites, but certainly cannot help rank for thin content. There are some already great websites that rank programmatically on Google. It is here to stay as long as you do it properly and try to satisfy the searcher's query (& making unique content). I will give more insights soon as I am starting a prog SEO project soon.
Q: Is Quora still relevant?
A: I think Quora is good only for certain topics. There are topics that still get attention. But sadly it is overrun by people doing over promotion. It's good to have a presence there but you should not put concentrated efforts into it as there are even better channels available.
Q: How do you manage to balance so many niches and quality content?
A: Its perfectly fine when you have some metrics or KPI. Example: Posting 1 article/week or lets say 2 articles/week. This can easily help you balance the work. Regarding quality content, I do use AI-tools to help assist in writing and getting ideas that previously never thought about.
I would even say for majority of the topics (in my niche), these tools churn out some of the best content I have seen. AI + Human touch edits is the best combo ever to have.
Q: In your opinion, which niche for building a stable partnership is the most promising to enter right now?
A: There is no such niche that is like entirely promising. It all depends on what you personally know about, interested in and go about it. One way I think about niche sites are the commercial intent about it.
You can find in many ways like: Checking advertisers on search (if yes, there's commercial interest in that niche).
Another way is to find affiliate programs in that niche. If there are programs, that means that niche/sector is already having a lot of commercial interest.
but you should go with those which you are most interested and comfortable with & some research like the above pointers will help.
Q: Will you suggest going for a blog or forum for SEO purposes in a particular niche?
A: 100% blog Forum SEO is very difficult to execute. Not recommended for beginners.
Q: Between building SEOptimized topical authority on the website and Quora marketing - what works best for boosting the visibility of a SaaS platform? Under the assumption that my potential customers search for solutions on both Google and Quora.
A: 100% go with Google first.
Simply because the audience is far vast + most high intent platform in the world -> Google.

So I would highly recommend with Google first and later Quora (probably like 90-10 ratio or 85-15 ratio) in terms of efforts.
Also depends on what type of audience you have, you can check searches, but Google will be the most preferred without a doubt.
Q: Would you recommend content marketing in a crowded B2B space on a limited budget? Or you advise the budget can be used on other relevant channels like Ads?
A: Here's I would go for this: First, I will try to export all the possible keywords in this space to understand what type of searches people are doing. Then gauge some competition and authority if I can outrank them or not.
This way, I can get a complete overview of the SERP that is in the Form SaaS Space. I know there are a lot of products now, but certainly organic is free right? Why leave that behind.
I would try to look at angles where people have not tried or not written anything. Zero volume searches are also underrated, I would go tap that as well.
Even 10-20 monthly traffic could be important if that is a high intent KW, So I would definitely analyze, research the SERP & go for it.
Q: Is there any methodology you recommend to find relevant marketing channels?
A: Best way to find marketing channels: Build a persona of your target audience, who they are, what they use, etc.
Then reverse engineer accordingly. May be I could find sub-reddits that my audience visits daily. That can be a channel. So knowing your target audience clearly, will help you a lot in determining what channels you should target.
Q: Would love to just review any resources you've heavily relied on for content marketing strategy particularly in B2B?
A: I actually relied a lot on competitor research. Example: I would try to jot down a list of competitors and see what they are doing online.
Then make a list of like 4-5 channels & go with 1-2 & 3-5 for experimenting with it.
I found out that webinars help a lot in B2B as the purchase decision is not instant. You need to warm up your key decision maker and hence visual content, webinars help a lot.
So there's not particular resources I relied as I was more into the SEO space but yeah that's about it.
Q: Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
A: I see myself taking some nice exits on certain projects on MicroAcquire, travel the world & working on more SaaS tools in the marketing/seo industry.
