Today, I came across an exciting development: QatarEnergy has surpassed a significant milestone by having over 100 LNG ships under construction. These vessels represent a crucial part of our global energy infrastructure, quietly powering our modern lives.

QatarEnergy Now Has OVer 100 LNG Ships Under Construction QatarEnergy’s LNG Fleet Expansion Program

• QatarEnergy, in collaboration with five shipping companies, recently signed time-charter agreements for 44 newbuild LNG carriers. These agreements raise the total number of vessels under QatarEnergy’s LNG fleet expansion program to over a hundred.
• Among these, 25 ships will be owned and operated by Qatar Gas Transport Co. Ltd. (Nakilat). These conventional-size vessels, currently being constructed in South Korea, will each have a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters (6.1 million cubic feet). Nakilat will charter them out to QatarEnergy affiliates.
• Additionally, QatarEnergy has entered into agreements with four other companies:CMES LNG Carrier Investment Inc.: Operating six vessels.Shandong Marine Energy (Singapore) Pte Ltd.: Operating six vessels.MISC Berhad: Operating three vessels.Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd. (K-Line) and Hyundai Glovis Co. Ltd.: Operating four vessels.
• These 19 vessels, also constructed in South Korea, share the same capacity of 6.1 million cubic feet each.
