Fuel
Pile it on.
Tell me I’m no good.
Fail me.
Deny me.
Dismiss me.
Diminish me.
You’re not the first.
It has all been done before.
You may catch me off guard.
You may knock me back on my heels.
It may take me a second or two to recover.
But I will.
I’ll gather myself.
I’ll recognize?you.
And, then…
I’ll reach out to my people.
My people.
Oh, my people.
Let me tell you about my people.
They know how to pump me up!
I got people.
Do you?
So go ahead.
Throw up every obstacle you’ve got.
Throw them my way.
Up
Over
Climb
Jump
Duck
Crawl
Pull
Grip
Heave
Hurdle
Balance
Run
Kick
Shoot
I’ll overcome them all.
And then…
Oh, and then…
I’m gonna roll up my sleeves.
Shut down every distraction.
And get back to work.
I’ll grind.
I’ll f*@#%ing grind.
Because I aint afraid of no work.
I know no quit.
And, then…
Oh, and, then…
I’m gonna turn to you.
Look at you.
And, I’m gonna…thank you.
You did not do what you did?to?me.
You did it?for?me.
Thank you for the fuel.

3 年It isn’t easy to use negativity as fuel, but reading articles like this certainly does make it easier. At least for me. Thanks Shawn!
