The RSDS Appraisal Diversity trainee development program continues to raise the bar by graduating two more trainees this week. This brings the overall total to 82. Rosemary Garcia was the first of four candidates trained by RSDS as part of the Appraiser Diversity Initiative?. This initiative seeks to attract new trainees to the real estate appraisal industry while promoting diversity within the field. In collaboration with the National Urban League's Regional Entrepreneurship Centers, the program is designed to reach diverse, talented candidates and educate them about the appraisal profession; provide resources for interested candidates to help them get on a path to success; and offer guidance from appraisers employed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. In September 2024, RSDS continued partnering with the U.S. Department of Defense’s SkillBridge program, expanding the number of trainees from the military to aid their transition into civilian careers while benefiting from their discipline. RSDS maintains high service standards with metrics showing: 1. Average appraisal report delivery in 3.4 days. 2. Inspection scheduling within 4 hours. 3. 24-hour order updates. 4. 99.8% on-time delivery rate. 5. Revision requests completed within 24 hours. These metrics highlight RSDS’s commitment to speed and accuracy, delivering reliable appraisal reports. Additionally, RSDS leads in thought leadership, contributing meaningfully to industry conferences like Valuation Expo in 2024, where it addressed diversity and modernization in appraisals. The firm emphasizes education, offering comprehensive training for its team members on various appraisal topics. This commitment ensures that RSDS surpasses industry standards. Overall, RSDS Appraisal Diversity’s focus on inclusivity, impressive growth, and dedication to excellence solidify its status as a candidate for Appraisal Firm of the Year. RSDS Appraisal Diversity trainee D'Andre Smith has been nominated for @Appraisal Buzz Rising Star of the Year. Vote today by visiting https://lnkd.in/gVcEBD_F. As the first trainee to join RSDS Appraisal Diversity through its partnership with the United States Department of Defense SkillBridge program, D’Andre’s journey from a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force to a promising future as a certified appraiser has been nothing short of inspiring. D’Andre joined RSDS in January 2024 after two decades as an Aircraft Technician in the U.S. Air Force. Through the SkillBridge program, he spent the last six months of military service apprenticing at RSDS, transitioning smoothly from a technical military role to the appraisal industry. This partnership showcases D’Andre’s commitment to a second career and RSDS’s dedication to supporting veterans in the appraisal field. Remarkably, D’Andre balances multiple responsibilities with dedication. While training for his appraiser certification, he is also pursuing a bachelor’s degree using benefits earned from his military service. This commitment is rare, as many trainees focus solely on certification. RSDS Vice President Kharon Brown noted, “Trainees today struggle to become appraisers. Completing a bachelor’s degree while training for certification is far superior to most.” D’Andre’s resourcefulness and work ethic make him a standout at RSDS. His success in both education and training proves his discipline and determination, qualities honed in military service. Beyond personal achievements, D’Andre positively influences the RSDS team. His attitude and strong work ethic inspire his peers. Trainer Adam Newsom remarked that D’Andre’s efforts uplift the entire team, and “we are all anxiously awaiting his pending approval for licensure.” For his dedication, ability to balance responsibilities, and positive impact, D’Andre Smith deserves the Rising Star of the Year award.
