Frustrated about Lockdown? Here are some positive sides of it...

Authors of the news paper articles worry too much about what the lockdown has taken away from us. I feel, they literally want us to go out to have a “normal day’ soon. However, I see a lot of positive things that this lockdown has blessed us with. Lets look at a couple of things that I could summarize…

Family, Caring & Sharing

Could you think of such a long vacation with your family before lockdown? I regret for the people who are staying away from their loved ones; but most of us are spending the lockdown with our family which is close to us… Holiday doesn’t always mean going out to a beach to chill., but sometimes it is worth spending your time with your family and take care of them. In the modern world where we used to blame the smartphones for making us busy and separated from one another, I thank lockdown for getting us close to each other again.

Work From Home

No doubt, lockdown has proved that majority of us can do our office works from home. For the people who hate changes, I believe this could be the hardest hit. Lockdown has very much helped the country to hasten their plans in adapting new technologies. Technology for the communication and data has already overtaken us in so many things. Though we could not beat it, it is important that we at least run as fast as we can to cope up with the advancements. Else, we will be giving in for the Einstein’s fear.

Shopping & Minimalism

Aren't we clear that we were buying a lot of unnecessary things just because of the persuasion by the sales guys and the ‘fake’ offers on the malls..? We planned really well about spending each coin on our wallet during the lockdown and we filtered the unimportant from the list. We must continue the same even after lifting the lockdown and rethink about spending on anything unlike before.

Traffic

Freedom could be destructive in many ways and for many people. Don't we see a decrease in the number of accidents during the lockdown? Of course, that is because less number of people driving., which also means that people drove only for necessary things. Avoiding unnecessary drives, could save a lot of lives. Lockdown is the proof.

During the lockdown, I was pleasantly surprised to see how little we need to go on reasonably comfortably with our daily lives. Be it household stuff, gadgets, food supplies and toiletries. Not to mention the array of expensive garments, shoes and other accessories we are constantly acquiring. And yet, we never stop collecting more and more and more. We do this because we want to show off to the world how up-to-date, fashionable and wealthy we are. I am going to make a conscious effort to move away from this negative pattern. We are living in times where we need to both “preserve” and “conserve”. I have decided to reduce my financial burden to whatever extent possible. Perhaps, it’s time for all of us to review the same
