Fruitlab: Democratised Earning for the Future of Gaming - Poggers!
Ben Kilbey
Award-winning Founder of Tactical Communications/Business Development/Investor Relations Advisory, BOLD Voodoo - you are your own narrative. Own it.
Everyone likes something for free, right? Come on. Who doesn’t love a BOGOF? Especially when we are knees deep in a cost-of-living crisis and an inflationary cycle. [Jog on energy bill!]
Roughly a month ago I started on my new journey as Founder of Business Development/Communications/IR agency, Bald Voodoo [some people in my network still snigger at the name, but, sobeit]. At the same time of launch I also announced my first client, Fruitlab Media, a Web3 gaming community that rewards users for their time spent on the platform.?
The ‘Play to Earn’ model was quickly on my radar. But, as a non-gamer [the closest I get to gaming is the online crossword. And I still prefer a paper-based one - how unsustainable you really are Mr Kilbey? … I hear in the distance] it didn’t immediately stack up as a rationale.
That was until I wore my Myzone? heartrate monitor to work. Suddenly I knew what it felt like to be rewarded for doing exactly what I would be doing normally, going about my day to day.
The MyZone Effort Points [MEPs] kept stacking up as I hotfooted across London between client/journalist meetings. I was used to having to earn my points in the gym. This was a revelation. I felt a little smug on the train home, and enlightened. There is such a thing as a free lunch [well, almost, just ask the Fruitlab team and their healthy addiction to the, heavily discounted not quite free, food app?https://toogoodtogo.co.uk/en-gb]
Going from the UK’s biggest #battery narrative to a Web3-based ecosystem was quite the transition. But as I say, with #challenges come #opportunities, and with opportunities come solutions. Fruitlab is the solution to what other platforms fail to offer, democratised earning for simply engaging. No beartraps nor snares. Bingo!
Right now, I kind of understand Web3, #decentralised #crypto and what Fruitlab is all about. I still have much to learn, and it’s fun. I have also realised in the past month just how big gaming is.
So big in fact the HBO series we’re enjoying,?The Last of Us, I discovered is based on a video game. And it’s hailed as the most true-to-game adaptations to date. You heard that right, not true-to-life, true-to-game. So much so that watching it could spoil playing the game. My mind is officially blown.

All of this means there’s a huge captive audience for gaming, and therefore the Fruitlab platform.?
According to Statista ,?the?value of the video game market worldwide?has increased significantly over the past decade and is forecast to grow even further in the upcoming years, surpassing the US$300 billion mark in 2023. The greatest?share of this games market revenue?is generated by mobile games, while console games make up almost a third of the revenue generated worldwide.
That’s a massive market, and only growing, to tap into. Fruitlab’s ambition is to be the home of gaming. A true community of like-minded individuals. A democratic platform where everyone earns for their engagement, not just content creation.?
This is where #web3 kicks in. Built on? Ethereum ?[via our partner Aventus ] - Fruitlab rewards users in its own currency, catchily called PIPs [https://fruitlab.com/pips]. Being based on a #blockchain technology means the platform also has full traceability built in. Rewards go to the users, for them to spend in the Fruitlab shop.?
To top it off, due to some recent adjustments, Ethereum is now a far more sustainable technology and therefore boosts Fruitlab’s green credentials.?https://ethereum.org/en/upgrades/merge/
And when the CEO of 萬事達卡 is saying that crypto is going to be big in payments and the Bank of England is aiming for a possible digital currency by 2030 [dubbed ‘#Britcoin’], you know the Trend is [very much] Your Friend.?
Just like the #energytransition, no one said it will be a walk in the park, so too will crypto have its own bumps in the road. But like any great journey, for those that adapt and evolve there will be much reward. I recall how long it took for me to truly trust PayPal , now its ubiquitous in my life. In fact, when a business doesn’t use it, I am befuddled. How long until I say the same of crypto?
As for Fruitlab and its evolution, you can game, create, engage and earn all on a sustainable blockchain platform. What’s not to love? In fact, totally Poggers! Life’s a game, let’s play. TBC.
