Is it Possible to Break a Fleshlight from Overstimulation? (Asking for a Friend)
We kick off tonight’s blog with a burning question: is it possible to break a Fleshlight due to overstimulation or simply using too much flesh? No worries, this isn't a personal inquiry — I'm just asking for a friend... who's asking for a friend! Let’s move on.
Friday the 13th Rumors: Frozen Hell for Halloween 2025?
Rumor has it that a new Friday the 13th is brewing, set for Halloween 2025, and fans are buzzing. Sean Cunningham, the OG producer of the Friday the 13th franchise, has allegedly read a scrapped sequence featuring Jason Voorhees and some unlucky kids playing ice hockey. Cue the frozen lake carnage, dramatic falls through the ice, and Jason doing what he does best.
Now, wouldn’t a holiday-themed Jason movie be amazing? Picture it: the Voorhees family gathered for Christmas dinner, only for Uncle Jason to show up. A killer Christmas, anyone? Hockey mask plus Santa hat equals cinema gold.
Nocturne Season 2: What We Know
Netflix’s Nocturne, the Castlevania spin-off, has confirmed a season two release in January! And, spoiler alert, the last season introduced none other than Alucard, son of Dracula. We’ve got vampire royalty clashing in this animated world, which has me torn between Alucard and another half-vampire favorite: Vampire Hunter D. Both are tragic anti-heroes, but D’s stoic loner vibes might just give him the edge for me. What do you think?
Movie News: Tom Holland and Austin Butler Smuggle Drugs?
Tom Holland and Austin Butler are slated to play brothers in American Speed, a story about drug smuggling. While details are sparse, the casting alone has got me intrigued. Holland as a smuggler? I’m here for it.
Tonight's Feature: The Car (1977)
Now, onto the meat of the night: The Car, a 1977 horror film where a small desert town gets terrorized by a possessed vehicle. The car in question is a 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III black coupe, heavily modified to look more sinister (think chopped roof and lengthened fenders). The result? A sleek, deadly machine that just shows up, kills, and leaves.

What makes this movie special isn’t just its supernatural vehicle; it’s the eerie coincidences around it. Lead actor James Brolin’s character has a fiancée who gets killed by the car — and in real life, Brolin’s first wife died in a car accident. Dark, right?
Brolin, better known today as Josh Brolin’s dad (and Barbra Streisand’s husband), was a 70s TV and movie star. Fun fact: he even did makeup tests for Planet of the Apes (1968) as Cornelius, though he didn’t land the part.
Possessed Car Horror Meets a French Filmmaker's Vision
The whole "killer car" concept isn’t isolated to this 70s gem. French filmmaker Quentin Dupieux made Rubber, a dark comedy about a homicidal tire. Both The Car and Rubber share long desert highways and lawmen at their wit's end as they face their evil mechanical foes. Dupieux must’ve watched The Car at some point — the similarities are too uncanny to ignore.
Why I Love The Car (and You Should Too)
While the plot is bonkers (seriously, a possessed car?), the movie grabs your attention. Take the relationship between Brolin’s sheriff and his fiancée, or the subplot of a deputy spiraling into alcoholism after his young friend is killed. It’s these human touches that make you invest in the characters, so when the car starts picking them off, you actually care.
One of my favorite scenes? The parade sequence where the car goes after kids on horses. It spooks the horses, chaos ensues, and it all ends in a cemetery, where the car can’t follow (apparently, hallowed ground is a no-go for possessed vehicles).
The Verdict: Should You Watch The Car?
On Binge-Watchers Podcast, we’ve got a no-nonsense rating system: binge now, binge later, or binge never. The Car is a definite binge now. While I expected it to be campy, it’s actually tense and engaging. For a movie about an evil car, it’s surprisingly unnerving — and fun. Give it a shot, and thank me later.
That wraps up tonight’s blog! Let me know your thoughts — do you agree with my Nocturne hot take? And how hyped are you for American Speed and the potential Friday the 13th in a frozen hellscape?
