Frost Brown Todd merges with California firm

California is responsible for 15% of the United State's gross domestic product by itself, and if it were its own nation, it would be the fourth-largest economy in the world. Frost Brown Todd just announced a merger with AlvaradoSmith Law , which will give it a beachhead in that state. Money quote from Frost's Cincinnati-based CEO Adam Hall: "California is one of the markets where legal trends get started, and this gives us the opportunity to be involved in some of those cutting-edge changes in the law and regulatory environment."

CVG lands British Airways flight to London

The CVG Airport - Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport announced new flights pretty regularly, but it's not every day that a press conference is accompanied by multi-colored balloons and international flags, or a visit from the lieutenant governor. The arrival of a new flight to London from British Airways merited special treatment.

Iconic downtown hotel at risk of foreclosure

News broke in August that downtown's iconic Carew Tower had sold to new out-of-town owners. But, that was only the office and retail portion of the complex. The Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza was not included in that sale, and now it is facing a foreclosure complaint.

Costco closes one location, opens another

It was a nail-biter until the end. Costco Wholesale had allegedly changed its mind multiple times about whether to close its Springdale location when it opened a new warehouse store in Liberty Township, but as the deadline came and passed, one of those stores did indeed close when the other opened.
