Frontiers in Sustainability lets us push the frontiers of knowledge

I really like the quote: “Without knowledge action is useless and knowledge without action is futile” – and I believe this quote resonates strongly in the world of sustainability. On one hand we must build our knowledge of sustainability related issues, yet at the same time we must know how and where to apply this knowledge if we want to achieve effective outcomes. ?

It’s for this very reason that First Abu Dhabi Abu Bank (FAB) commissioned Frontiers in Sustainability. An education programme with a mission to give UAE business leaders the ability to transfer knowledge into action.?

When we set out designing the programme, we wanted to create an immersive experience where leaders from across sectors in the UAE could listen, learn, and collaborate while at the same time build a deep understanding of how sustainability related issues effect our economy and the world around us.

The focus here is to ensure that corporate leaders can also embed the fundamentals of the course across decision making processes within their respective organisations. ?

In particular, the programme supports business leaders in understanding sustainability as part of overall business transformation towards supporting the UAE 2050 net-zero ambition. With this newfound understanding of the sustainability agenda, it is hoped that the participants will be able to drive tangible actions and gain the momentum for change.

The programme is tailored specifically to senior executives at major UAE private and governmental entities. These participants will learn from leading experts and practitioners from world-renowned institutions, gaining new knowledge and an applied understanding of sustainability best practice.

Of equal significance, the programme’s timely launch in 2023 coincides with the ‘Year of Sustainability’ in the UAE. Sustainability continues to serve as constant focal point as the country prepares to host the 28th United Nations climate change summit, Conference of Parties COP28.

In my view, Frontiers in Sustainability expands on FAB’s ambition to create purposeful action that leads to sustainable outcomes.

Through this partnership with Emirates Foundation and the renowned the 瑞士洛桑国际管理发展学院 (IMD) - 商学院 , FAB is supporting the UAE’s ambition of creating a knowledge-based economy while driving the country’s aspiration to achieve net-zero by 2050.

Most importantly, Frontiers in Sustainability let’s us push the frontiers of knowledge to advance action towards the realisation of the UAE’s climate objectives.
