In today's interview, we’ll discuss just how the Frontend machine works, which cogs are indispensable in the development process, and how to fuse fun and finesse with functionality.

Can you tell us about your experience in developing frontend solutions for iGaming platforms and what attracted you to Quantum Gaming specifically?

The people, the variety in the group, and the backend expertise was a particular highlight. I feel this gives us space to learn from each other, and generally I feel like we can grow and do great things together.?

What are some of the key challenges you face when developing frontend solutions for white label iGaming platforms?

Without a doubt, aligning visions at all levels of the company is challenging. Inter-team communication in particular tends to be the biggest issue, because everybody would like their voice to be heard. When our visions are aligned, meeting shareholder expectations is crucial to success and growth also.

Security is of utmost importance in the iGaming industry. How do you approach frontend development to ensure the security and integrity of the platform, especially when handling sensitive user data?

Frontend aims to remove any sensitive user data from the equation by using secure channels for backend-frontend interaction, preventing any malicious intentions users may have while using the application. Most security these days is handled by backend, all we do is secure the communication.?

The iGaming industry is constantly evolving, with new technologies and trends emerging. How do you stay up-to-date with the latest frontend technologies and best practices to deliver cutting-edge solutions?

My social media is predominantly related to front-end and development in general. From Youtube, to Reddit, to newsletters, I aim to keep as up to date as possible. It’s vital to always stay on top of trends, and listening to and reading about as many experts and their work as possible will give you both a broader perspective and more specialized knowledge, at least when it comes to development.?

Quantum Gaming aims to provide an immersive and engaging user experience. How do you leverage your frontend development skills to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for the iGaming platform without sacrificing efficiency?

Any visually stunning effect isn’t an efficient by nature, but we balance this out by including a frontend dev in every creative meeting. When designers get carried away with whimsical ideas, the developer is there to bring them back down to earth, and the FE can say “yes, it looks good, but it will take us X times longer to make it”. The question is always - is the additional development time worth it?

Collaboration is essential in software development. Can you describe your experience working with backend developers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration and delivery of frontend solutions?

Having worked as both a designer, manager, fullstack dev and system admin, I understand everyone’s needs and concerns, which helps immensely with shifting decisions and making adjustments.

What feature/features that you are working on for Quantum Gaming are you most excited about?

It’s definitely the new communication protocol. Quantum is unique when it comes to communication technology advancement. Most companies use REST/SOAP or GraphQL. With us, all communication is done through web-sockets, improving response times from backend, as well as allowing live updates (the moment an update goes up on backend, it’s live). I haven’t worked with a website that uses websockets as it’s only communication protocol and am very excited to be part of the team pioneering it.?

In the context of iGaming platforms, are there any unique accessibility considerations or challenges that you encounter during frontend development? How do you ensure that the platform is accessible to users with disabilities or impairments?

There are industry-standard procedures in place that we adhere to. Quantum Gaming strives to make its products accessible to everybody at all times, so staying up to speed with accessibility implementation is definitely a priority.?
