Front Line Nurses

Front Line Nurses

Anyone who has been to any medical institution knows that patients interact with nurses more than doctors. It’s just the way our system has been developed over the past decades. However, this also means that when things go wrong, nurses are at the forefront. Sometimes, this means that they’ll get blamed for things that they have no control over.

The life of a nurse tends to be chaotic, especially in a hospital. As a Kevin MD article explains, they get pulled at every angle and can become burned-out or overwhelmed quickly. We see them multitasking to the point that anyone would lose it.

While it would be amazing if there was a “fix all” remedy, our current hospital system doesn’t allow it. Nurses will have to diagnose patients, worry about supplies and linens, calm angered patients, and try to help doctors in any way shape or manner until further notice. Still, we’ve seen this kind of situation cause medical errors and patients begin to suffer. While it might be time to reevaluate our system, however medical professionals need to have each others’ backs in the most chaotic of times.
