Unleashing Brilliance Through Resilient Leadership, Part 2
Last week we shared the first three tips and insights into unleashing brilliance through resilient leadership. Today, I am excited to share the fourth and fifth innovative strategies into redefining the essence of effective leadership.
Here they are:
4. Empowering Through the Art of Improvisation
Jazz musicians excel by mastering their craft and then playing freely within a framework. Similarly, empowering team members by providing structure and then encouraging improvisation within boundaries promotes creativity and ownership. This method underlines the importance of flexibility and adaptability in leadership, allowing team members to explore solutions and innovate within a supportive structure.
5. Orchestrating Success with Silent Conducting
A conductor leads an orchestra not by playing every instrument but by enabling each musician to perform at their best. In leadership, this translates to guiding without overpowering, allowing the team’s collective brilliance to shine. Celebrating the ensemble’s performance rather than individual contributions fosters a unified and motivated team.
According to the State of Working America Report – Thriving in Resilience and Brilliance, working Americans believe that both brilliance (87%) and resilience (88%) are incredibly valuable to their success at work. Furthermore, in the same study, 82% of working Americans indicated that they think great leaders have to inspire resilience in those they lead.
