On The Front Foot
A quick glance at the major portals confirms the obvious - the usual barrage of properties flooding the market at the start of the year has been off to a rather slow start in 2025. Are vendors holding off until the RBA’s February announcement? Are the upcoming Federal elections causing uncertainty? Has it simply been a busy start to the year for many and the process of preparing a home for sale has fallen to the wayside?
The exact cause is anyone's guess - but one thing is for sure: if you’ve got your heart set on buying, but you’re solely relying on the major portals to find your dream home, you’re missing out on countless opportunities. Subscribe to relevant agents’ mailing lists, follow them on Instagram and most importantly - make yourself known! Some of the most exciting and rewarding deals we’ve worked on have come together through casual conversations and quick thinking!
If you’re subscribed to this email, you’re already on the front foot - I’ve hinted at these opportunities on my Instagram page earlier this week, but you get first dibs on the inside scoop! If moving to or investing into Teneriffe has been on your mind, these properties are a must see!
On the ground floor of the Mactaggarts Woolstore, Unit 47 awaits, a two bedroom apartment with renovated interiors. Residents can enjoy a lush, manicured garden and large pool overlooking the Brisbane River and direct access to the River Walk, as well as incomparable proximity to public transport. Our first open home will be on Saturday, 8 February at 11am - see you there!
Under the sawtooth roof of the London Woolstore, Unit 63 is a rare opportunity to secure a three bedroom apartment with an external balcony. That’s right - uninterrupted views across the surrounding rooftops toward Newstead with split level interiors - heritage living at its finest I say.

Last, but not least, an imposing residence in the Dakota Woolstore is set to hit the market soon. Think river views, soaring ceilings and a split-level layout reminiscent of a house, with distinct heritage features to boot, this opportunity is not to be missed!
Earlier this week, a dinner with friends at Beccofino reminded me again of how fortunate we are to have such wonderful venues peppered across the suburb. Bar the fact that I could easily eat their Duck Ragu for every meal, their service and atmosphere is unmatched - relaxed yet attentive with impeccable dishes - it’s not hard to see why Becco’s is a local institution.
When I mention Teneriffe’s village charm, this is what I refer to - vibrant cafes and restaurants that make you feel right at home, passersby that happen to have the same routine and are always up for a friendly wave or a chat and of course there’s the unmatched riverside location.
It can be tempting to never leave the Teneriffe bubble, but when Brisbane’s newest hospitality venues beckon, one must oblige. The Ghanem Group have just lifted the curtain on their Burnett Lane location - Hideki - offering fine casual dining, appropriately tucked away in the CBD’s moody laneways. With interiors designed by Sophia Klemenz, of interior-design studio and homewares boutique Klemenza, the venue and the menu are equally a sight for sore eyes. Set to open in April, their expansion on James Street promises an outdoor seating area, perfect in time for the cooler autumn temperatures.
The exact location has yet to be revealed, but just a short drive (or walk, if like me, you have a partner that insists it’s the ultimate mode of transport) from Teneriffe, I imagine we can look forward to an exciting new spot for relaxed yet elevated dining.
Talk soon,
