From Worrier to Warrior! Take Control of your destiny in one hour a week!
“He who Fails to plan – Plans to fail” Proverbs
Congratulations you have made it to another Week! Back to work – Whatever you do – this is another chance to carve your destiny the way you want it!
Are you closer to your goals this Monday than you where in the last week? What about in the last month… in the last YEAR?
If yes! Celebrate that’s excellent! Because happiness comes from feeling like we are moving toward something; and frustration, worry and depression come from either moving away from or feeling like you have no control over your Goals or Expected Life Blue Print.
Your life blue print is how you believe your life should look. If you are frustrated in any area be it your body, your finances or your relationship for example this is because your life does not match your Blue Print – Or your perception of how life should look for you.
If you are happy in any area it is because your life looks like it's moving toward, or is the way you believe it should be and you have matched your blue print.
This is excellent – But like any healthy human even when you get there – you want more don’t you ? That’s where goal setting comes in.
By now I would hope you have a clear idea of your Goals for the next 6 months to a year written down – This is such a powerful tool – A study at MIT university proved that the 10% people who had written goals not only had better outcomes long term in their career and home life’s but were also worth more than 90% more in their personal net worth than the other 90% combined.
More on Goal Setting in my next article for now I want to share with you a powerful tool which is the most powerful ritual I use every Monday morning to set up my week for success.
If you are no closer to your goals than last year or feel like you are in a rutt in any area then we need to take action!
Get closer to your goals every week with this Powerful Weekly Success Ritual used by Richard Branson, Tony Robbins and many other success gurus!
How do you run multiple projects at once and ensure you kick ass in all areas?
Step 1 )
Schedule it! This is THE most important hour you will spend a week just as important as your morning workout ritual .
Turn off your phone. Disconnect from emails, facebook (yes even the notifications for you addicts) get away from everything and set boundaries with your family or coworkers let them know you will be back – and how important this is.
Get into an active state – which means clap loudly & sit up straight and put on some empowering music and get ready!
Step 2)
Connect and Visualize the big Picture! ( 5-10 Minutes )
No need to write anything, take a few deep breaths & start to picture your life the way you want it in every area that is important to you.
Take a look at your goals if you need to but spend this time Visualizing what it is you do want, what you are working towards, what you are excited about & what the perfect life looks like to you.
Start to see your goals and desires unfolding perfectly and get excited! Feel the feelings of already achieving these goals and give thanks to your self & your creator for a job well done – In advance!
Spend as much time as you like in this state it’s such an empowering way to start your week!
Step 3)
Celebrate your last week! Write it all down!
I love this! If you ever felt like your weeks just continue on from the last with no real tangible results that’s because you haven’t taken the time to reflect on all the great things you have done – Big and small.
Ask your self – What did I do last week that made me proud?
It can be as simple as a great phone call, a meeting, a look from someone you where interested in, a great meal you cooked, a day you pushed yourself to excersize when you didn’t feel like it ! Anything goes!!
AT LEAST 10 things!
Get with the good feelings of the things you have created for you your family and your business and celebrate! This leaves us with such a sense of accomplishment that we take into the next week creating a powerful goal smashing momentum ! If you are struggling with this on the first week – that’s totally ok because once you have started this process for one week you will be able to go back and measure your results!
Step 4)
Analyse what didn’t happen.
Go through any of the plans you had for last week and look at the excuses or reasons you have for way you didn’t complete certain tasks – and what are the important things you are putting off?
I noticed with this step that the same excuses where coming up week after week for why I wasn’t doing certain tasks my excuses “ I needed more sleep” or “ I'll do it tomorrow “ kept popping up so I knew I had a little issue I had to resolve if I wanted to get any closer to my personal best!
Step 5)
Write Down All The Major Lessons
What did you learn last week? Small or big?
Spiritual, economical or even about your partner, your team.
It all matters – take time to let these important life lessons sink in and remember its one thing to learn a lesson but if you don’t apply it – that experience was useless.
6) Get Your Goals!
This is where you look at your goals and work out what little steps you can take this week to move you from where you are – to where you want to be!
REMEMBER ! It’s the little failures that create Failure and the little successes that create Massive Success.
Your MOST IMPORTANT TASKS or MIT’s
Make a list of 6-7 MITS; these should include Work, Personal, Financial and any significant steps you can take towards your big ultimate desires.
This is not – Pay Phone Bill time.
Example:
My goals include winning a Building a Business & Maintaining a certain Level of Financial Success in my company, making sure my family feels loved and cared for deeply, creating new music and growing my business. Happiness comes from progress.
So some of my MITs are;
1) Specific enquiry, quotes, interviews sent out, sales calls, money makin' goals. Quantify & Commit!
2) Weights & cardio 5 times a week (Better physical state, better story, better strategy)
3) Creative outcomes, songwriting, guitar minimum 7 hours.
4) Study, reading, podcasts, bettering myself - 4 hours.
5) Family & Relationship outcomes - Quality time. (Not quantity) Specific time.
6) Writing this article
7) SCHEDULE EVERYTHING !!!!
I use iCal as it pushes all my info to my iPad and iPhone through iCloud – ahhh technology. Use a calendar!!!
Make Sure your MIT’s are always early in the week so you smash them first and take full control of your future so there’s no chance of stress at the end of the week .
After your MITS, it's ok to input the small stuff, pay the bills, pay tax, but these are not fulfilling. Necessary but not MITS.
Make sure you don’t overfill your calendar and be realistic – we are not machines ( well actually I do call myself that ) so make sure you leave windows of time and know its totally ok not to do it all ! Because now you are one week closer to your personal best, your goals your dreams and the best version of you you can possibly be!
One more thing I like to add! Is;
WHO CAN I HELP THIS WEEK? & WHO CAN HELP ME?
Because no week is complete without a little contribution – remember its not all about me its mostly about we – and nothing of any real value was ever created alone! Reach out, plan ahead, dream big and take it one week at a time my champions!
Get out of the 9-5 – its time to feel ALIVE!
