Welcome to the Life // Work newsletter.

My aim with this is that it becomes a bi-weekly newsletter on all the topics that relate to the ongoing debate and examination of the balance between life and work.

I'll share thoughts on topics such as the future of work, personal branding, flexibility, employer benefits and career breaks.

As I'm passionate about flexible and remote working, relevant jobs and companies will also be spotlighted.

Our whole lives, we've spoken about work life balance.

The emphasis on finding the balance to fit our lives around work.

Work for so long has defined who we are.

When introducing ourselves, it's often the first thing we say after our name.

But I don't feel work should define us.

And I think that times are quickly changing.

After COVID, layoffs, recession and so much more, people are remembering there's more to life than work, and that it no longer actually does define us.

Life is what defines us.

And fitting work into life should be the new normal.

For me, work has become something to love. Something to enjoy. Something to be truly passionate about.

But also something that I can balance with everything else that I love, enjoy and am passionate about.

Not something that comes as a detriment to those other things.

The aim of this newsletter is to highlight the ways we can all do this.

To share my experiences.

To surface insights from others who have found their place in the new world of work.

To debate and discuss what the future of work looks like.

To highlight companies doing a great job of enabling people to be flexible and live their lives as well as work.

To hopefully inspire others to find their Life / Work balance.

Any and all ideas for future editions are welcome ??

Each edition, I'll take a look at a different company and what flexibility looks like for them.

This week we're starting with Form3, a provider of next generation payment technology who have partnered with the likes of AWS, Google and Accenture.

So what does flexibility look like at Form3?

Trust is an important aspect of their flexible working approach. The majority of staff work from home with flexible working being embedded in their culture.

It allows teams to create their own environment that allows them to work most efficiently while also enabling employees to live their life to the fullest.

What I love about Form3:

?? The remote-first culture gives employees flexibility to decide where to work.?

?? Everyone is equal, with technology used to improve communication ensuring that no matter where employees choose to work they feel like they're an equal part of the team.?

?? They understand the importance of in person collaboration and team building and so organise multiple meet ups throughout the year.?
