Meet Kendall Colletti, a student in the biopharmaceutical marketing program at USC Mann Division of Healthcare and Biopharmaceutical Business. After discovering her passion for pharmaceuticals and advertising during a transformative summer internship in 2019, Kendall began a career in pharmaceutical marketing and chose to enhance her skills and expertise by participating in our program. A senior strategist at Inizio Evoke Drive, Kendall has found the program’s flexibility invaluable. She appreciates the convenience of attending online webcasts and in-person sessions on campus. “Overall, the way the program is structured works very well for working professionals,” Kendall says. “The flexibility allows me to engage with professors, guest speakers and fellow students while managing professional responsibilities.” As she nears the completion of her master’s degree this spring, Kendall is committed to continuing her impactful work in the pharmaceutical industry, dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes and contributing to their well-being. John Stofko, MPH, MBA, RPh, and Maryann Wu, EdD of #USCMann attended the Pharmacy Education Symposium (PES) held at Monash University in Prato, Italy, in July 2024. They presented their work on “Experiential Learning in Healthcare Consulting to Help Prepare Students for Careers in the Biopharmaceutical Industry.” The presentation showcased the Enterprise Team Projects (ETP) incorporated into the Healthcare Decision Analysis and Biopharmaceutical Marketing master’s degree programs. ETPs offer graduate students the opportunity to leverage classroom knowledge and skills through real-world, company-sponsored projects, effectively bridging academic learning with industry experience. Jason Shafrin has joined USC Mann Division of Healthcare and Biopharmaceutical Business as adjunct professor and course coordinator. An expert with more than 15 years of experience in health economics, health policy and research, and over 50 peer-reviewed publications,?Shafrin is also a previous guest lecturer in the program. Shafrin is teaching Applications of Contemporary Healthcare Policy this summer. The course focuses on the economic impacts associated with health policy and the business practices that drive decision-making and management in the healthcare industry. ? Shafrin holds a PhD in economics from the University of California, San Diego.
