I married the love of my life, my college sweetheart, with dreams of forever.?
For 20 wonderful years, we lived those dreams—raising two amazing daughters in a home surrounded by a white picket fence. It all seemed perfect until it wasn't.?
We hit a point where "irreconcilable differences" was the only description that made sense, and the shadow of divorce began to loom over us.
Despite my expertise as an attorney, mediator, and therapist, I was totally unprepared for the emotional storm of my own marriage crumbling.
I spent years in indecision, believing that not choosing was somehow preserving our family for the sake of our children.
This procrastination became a heavy burden for us all, and I often wished for a visible sign—a big "D" on my forehead perhaps—to signal my struggle and elicit compassion from others.?
When my husband and I finally decided to divorce, we were swept into the harsh realities of courtrooms and legal battles. Our daughters witnessed it all, their own pain reflecting the turmoil and leaving lasting scars.
Sitting across from the man I once vowed to cherish forever, I realized there must be a more compassionate way to separate—or perhaps even a way to salvage our bond.?
My work with other couples confirmed that many give up too quickly, not realizing that with the right communication tools, they might overcome their challenges.?
Divorce isn't just a legal process; it's a deep, personal transformation and also a time for spiritual growth.
After years of uncertainty, I finally found the courage to seek a separation, leading to a decade-long journey to officially ending our marriage.?
That period was marked by profound sorrow, confusion, and fear, leaving me feeling lost and incapable of making the necessary decisions. I didn't know where to turn.

My experiences led to the founding of the Compassionate Communication Academy, which offers emotional and spiritual healing alongside practical legal and financial guidance.
My method, Compassionate Mediation?, now helps professionals—therapists, coaches, mediators—foster peace and understanding in their work.?(www.LindaKroll.com/Roadmap)
I believe families need not be "broken," but can be peacefully and respectfully "re-structured."
The biggest gift we can give our children is to protect them from the shrapnel of our animosity - transforming family conflicts with integrity and respect, protecting children from the fallout and promoting healing environments.
This mission inspired the creation of the Women’s Empowered Decision Support Community (WEDS), a refuge for women at any stage of separation or divorce.?
WEDS provides a supportive community to navigate this transformative time.?
It provides emotional and spiritual healing along with legal and financial information and support.
It's like having a therapist, mediator, attorney and spiritual coach in your back pocket.
If this message speaks to you, or if you know someone in need of this support, I invite you to learn more at www.LindaKroll.com/WEDS
