From vision to action: how we’re accelerating change for a greener future

You already know that sustainability is one of our core values, we’ve always given a lot of importance to this matter and we believe that we can make a difference with our actions. We didn’t want it to be just words, so we decided to take it a step further and we’ve recently embarked on a journey to make our commitment to sustainability official and certify our efforts.?

Today we want to show you what this journey looks like for us and share some cool data we’ve gathered until now for all the data lovers. Are you ready?

What are we doing? ??

We started a long-term path that will lead the company to reach a high-level performance on the ESG goals (Environmental, Social and Governance). This means that we can officially quantify our impact on the planet and also on people. This process will involve the whole company and will take a long time, but we’re sure it will bring great results that will make everyone proud!

Why are we doing it? ??

Our goal is to keep improving all the time to ensure a positive impact on both the planet and the people, increasing the internal and external wellness. Thanks to your support we’ve already achieved a lot and were able to leave a positive mark on the planet, so thank you! Let’s do this together ??

How will we achieve this? ????

We are using a tool called BIA (B Impact Assessment) to evaluate our impact and to make sure that the strict restrictions lead us to structured and measurable change. The best thing is that by reaching a minimum of 80 points, we can also be officially eligible to obtain the B Corp certification, probably the most prestigious one when it comes to sustainability qualifications!?

Starting from the areas of improvement we’ve identified, we’ve set a corporate strategy by creating a roadmap toward sustainability that involves all teams. We did this not only for the certification purpose, but also and mainly because we truly care about minimizing our negative impact on the environment and we want to do everything we can. We'll share more in-depth details in the next months.

Where are we now? ??

We’re on the path to create something awesome. From production to shipping, we’re already making sure to minimize our impact. We’ve gathered some data which we find really interesting and we wanted to share them with you:

?? 20 million filters are wasted every year, that’s more than 12.000 kg of waste! Thanks to our washable filters that don’t need to be replaced, you can save money and avoid creating unnecessary waste.

?? For every product sold we plant 7 mangroves in Madagascar and until now we’ve planted 117.000 trees thanks to you and our collaboration with Eden Reforestation Projects

?? So thanks to your support, we’ve compensated a total of 4863 tons of CO2, which is equal to 4971 trips from Rome to New York!

?? With our Shelfy, we help you save 74 kg of food waste every year, which is almost $2k for each family!
