From Underdog to Top Dog, Arjun Rai is the master behind HelloWoofy
Marketers, have you ever felt like the underdog?? Entrepreneur, Arjun Rai, had you in mine with his latest start-up.? Born in India, grew up in Chicago and New Jersey, and now based in New York City, he came up with the idea of an influencer marketer app which turned into his company HelloWoofy , a marketing scheduling tool.? His first version was a phone app for influencers on the go.? He made the decision to pivot to desktop after listening to his customers needing full screen to create campaigns. He now also facilitates forward thinking marketing capabilities past what is needed in the now, with examples of using smart-speakers to send out your message.
?As a serial entrepreneur, he saw a need, for himself even, to have a one stop shop for his marketing.? Funding was raised fairly fast but went quickly in development.? With that happening he had released the CTO and a co-founder in 2018 had only $10K in the bank.? The investors told him to shut his company down and that they would partner him on his next venture.? His passion for HelloWoofy was too great for him to let go.? He reached out to his community in the tech world and became a Chief of Staff at another startup to help fund his dream.? After a year, he started again with $120,000 in credit cards and $50,000 in capital.? By August of 2019, he was able to relaunch.
?In that same month, he was contacted by a web developer company APPZuma to start selling to the public, and he auditioned for the pitch competition, reality show “Meet the Drapers.”? The show team thought that the product was a bit too early but they would be watching to see when it was ready.? He was dealt another blow a few days later when he received a call saying his mother was extremely ill.? Unfortunately, she did pass away. Right after, he was contacted by the “Meet the Drapers” team to say that they actually wanted him for that season.? He ended up winning the show and Tim Draper has invested three times in the company to date.?
?In 2020, the company grew by 2000% and now has over 12,000 members on the platform.? The product is growing new areas constantly to fill gaps that they are seeing for the clients with content creation.? Along with the AI that helps the client to understand what language, hashtags and emojis to use, there is now SEO, Google Web Stories, smart speakers, and? with graphic design and SVOD platforms solutions coming soon.??
