Exactly one year ago today, I found myself in a difficult place. Every morning, after sending my kids off to school, I would walk to the bus stop, far from home, where I would allow myself a few minutes to cry. It was a time of confusion and doubt, where I felt like I was wasting my life, unsure of what to do next.
At that time, I was running a small business, making and selling customized chocolates online. Despite the effort I put into marketing and growing the business, there was a constant feeling of emptiness and frustration, as if my life had come to a standstill.
Fast forward to today, and I am amazed at how much has changed in just a year. I am now celebrating 9 months back in the IT industry, a field where I have 7 years of experience. I had taken a break from my career to focus on my kids, a decision that was both necessary and challenging. Rejoining the IT world was a significant step, and it has been a rewarding journey.
In addition to my job, I am pursuing a Master’s degree, a long-held dream that I am finally making a reality. Balancing work, studies, and family life has been demanding, but it has also been incredibly fulfilling. The sense of purpose and direction I feel now is something I could only have hoped for a year ago.
Most importantly, I am in a much happier state of mind. Looking back, I realize that the struggles and uncertainties I faced were not in vain. They were part of a process that led to personal growth and a clearer understanding of what I want in life.
If there is one thing I have learned, it’s that moments of struggle and confusion are often followed by breakthroughs. Instead of dwelling on what went wrong or feeling trapped by past experiences, we need to move forward. Embrace the changes, be grateful for the growth, and understand that even the most challenging times can reshape us into stronger, more resilient individuals.
Today, I am thankful not just for the positive changes in my life, but also for the tough moments that led me here. They were the catalysts for change, and they have helped me become the person I am today.
