From Tech Staffing to Building a Better Future

The Beginning

My entrepreneurial journey started 16 years ago when I emigrated from Cuba to Mexico. I didn’t have to do it; I didn’t have strong political reasons or financial problems. I just loved math and technology and dreamed about a better future.

After a couple of job fiascos, I realized that if I wanted to work for a company with a purpose beyond making money, a company with a people-first culture and focused on unleashing their magic to create value with technology, I had to build it myself.

So, my partner and I founded ADWEB.

The Technology Staffing Company

We loved ADWEB and the extraordinary team players who gave us their blood, sweat and tears every day. We never thought about selling it, definitely not to a staffing company.

Fast forward 15 years, and then Zigatta and its CEO Nahid Giga appear.

They were a Technology Staffing company, but they were on a path to become something else, something more than just a provider of people.

We immediately clicked with the vision, the opportunity to scale our impact, and most important, Nahid′s values and entrepreneurial story.

So, we made a leap of faith and joined the staffing company to help them build something meaningful together.

Talent, Technology and a Better Future

Then Covid arrived, digitization exploded, and the war on talent got worse. Hundred of tech companies were saying they had the best talent at the best cost from a commoditized bloody market. Every staffing and technology company was fighting for the same limited pool of talented people with the right technology skills.

We didn’t want to be part of that war.

We wanted to be part of something with a higher purpose, something meaningful…and we wanted to attract and develop talented people who believe what we believe.

That’s why we doubled down on the Zigatta Cares initiative and partnered with a foster home for abused girls in Mexico, not just to help with money and donations but with time and training in technology so the girls could dream and prepare to have better opportunities in life.

Our Data Scientists worked with the innovation team of one of the biggest automotive companies in the world to use data, computer vision and machine learning to identify when kids are left behind on a car and potentially save their life.

We use analytics, data science, and UX personalization at an Air Purifiers e-commerce company to help clients choose the best equipment for their specific respiratory conditions.

Our mobile developers are creating an app to help students on a college campus feel safer when they move from one part of the campus to another.

Yes, we still do Staffing and Data Science and create outstanding software for our clients.

But that’s just the how.

What we really do is combine amazing talented people who share our values with the most advanced, cutting-edge technology to build a better future.

A better future for our clients. A better future for our team.

And a better future for the world.
