From Target to Amazon- Day 3

After nearly 7 years @Target I made the move to Seattle to work for Amazon as a recruiter! I am hoping to document and share my transition, successes and difficulties- hopefully it will be helpful, or at least funny...

Follow up from Day 1- I learned that only fools walk up Denny Hill. There are a lot of short-cuts to take instead. Including those that involve elevators.

Now for Day 2 and 3-

1. Everyone is really down-to-earth, willing to help, and supportive in taking your time to learn and ramp up. Surprising as sometimes the Amazon reputation can be the sink or swim- but this isn't what I am finding at all.
2. I started dressing like the weather. Literally. I bought clothes with rain/umbrellas on it because it makes me laugh. So far, it has yet to make anyone else laugh. At least not with me...
3. And most importantly- Amazon go!!! I have read, heard and watched so many videos about Amazon go I felt like I was walking up to sacred ruins somewhere. And it didn't disappoint. It was so cool to be inside. The selection was bigger than I thought- with a heavy mix of to-go fresh snacks (so many yummy vegan options), some really cool meal-in-a-box options that you prepare yourself, and then a healthier version of convenience store items. You badge in and walkout. Then a receipt shows up via app. A BIG highlight for me so far.
