From Table Tennis Champ to Future Engineer
We are excited to present today the inspirational story of Japjit Singh Maan, an international table tennis champion and incredibly gifted student who has obtained a student visa to Italy to study for a Bachelor in Information Engineering at the esteemed University of Padua. Japjit, who is from New Delhi, India, has always excelled in both athletics and academics. He completed his high school education at Bal Bharati Public School in Pitampura, where he always excelled academically, earning above 90% in every subject. His love for technology was apparent from a young age, and he was recognised as a subject topper.
Aside from academics, Japjit is an international table tennis player. His dedication to the sport resulted in several notable accomplishments, including winning the Dubai International Ranking Tournament and finishing second in the CBSE State Table Tennis Tournament. As Vice President of Sports at his high school, he was instrumental in cultivating a culture of athleticism and teamwork among students. Japjit's interest in technology, particularly cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI), has led him to pursue creative ideas. He has vast experience with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and cybersecurity exploits, demonstrating his hands-on skills. Some of his significant projects include Python-based automated trading, iOS penetration testing, a personal AI voice assistant, an automated brute force machine for iOS, and a restaurant management system database.
Japjit investigated Apple device security during the COVID-19 lockout and used to hack to bring back-dated devices. His vast technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities are demonstrated by his ability to jailbreak previous iOS versions and improve security mechanisms. Japjit, who has a solid background in cybersecurity and informatics, set his sights on Italy, which is renowned for its top-notch educational system. His ideal location turned out to be the University of Padua, one of the oldest and most esteemed universities in Europe. Japjit is excited to help develop the modern electrical devices, having been inspired by Prof. Marta Bagatin's research on semiconductor dependability. A firm ambition to bring international knowledge back to India bolstered his application. He aspires to improve India's IT security environment by creating safe API frameworks and doing vulnerability assessments, with hopes of collaborating with government agencies such as the National Informatics Centre (NIC), ECIL, and C-DAC.
