From the streets to the Wankhede's honours boards

Yashasvi Jaiswal began playing cricket on the streets of Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh at the age of 11. However, his family's financial struggles forced him to move to Mumbai at the age of 13 to earn a living. In Mumbai, his cricketing skills were discovered by local coaches, and he started playing for a local club.

One of his early coaches in Mumbai was Jwala Singh, who was associated with the Azad Maidan cricket academy. Jaiswal's impressive performance in domestic cricket led to his selection for the Mumbai cricket team at the age of 17, where he debuted in the Ranji Trophy.

He also emerged as the leading run-scorer in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Jaiswal holds the record for the highest individual score by an Indian batsman in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and he was named Player of the Tournament in the 2020 edition.

He was later bought by the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and was subsequently selected for the Indian national cricket team's limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka in 2021.

Despite facing early setbacks, Jaiswal's hard work and perseverance have made him one of India's most promising young cricketers. His inspiring story demonstrates that young cricketers in India can achieve their dreams through talent, dedication, and hard work.
