From Skydives to Marathons: Over ￡100,000 Raised for Claire House

In 2017 we set out to raise ￡45,000 for our local children’s hospice Claire House Children's Hospice to celebrate our 45th anniversary. The overwhelming support and enthusiasm from our team and community meant that we surpassed this target in no time—and we simply couldn’t stop there. Today, we are proud to announce that we have raised a cumulative total of ￡101,204 for this incredible charity.
For anyone that doesn’t know; Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children and young adults make the most of the time they have however long or short that may be. By providing specialist nursing and end of life care, as well as emotional support and uplifting positive moments, Claire House helps families through some of the toughest times of their lives.
At Trustland, we have participated in a variety of fundraising activities. In the accompanying photo, you’ll see seven of our remarkable employees who have collectively:

“Claire House is only able to keep our doors open thanks to the support and dedication of our local community.
Last year alone, Claire House supported 100 children and their families at the end of their life. When a baby, child or young person sadly passes away, those next few weeks are some of the hardest for the family. Their child can come and rest in our Butterfly Suite, allowing the family time to say goodbye to their loved one before the funeral, whilst being supported practically and emotionally by our team at every step of the way. The incredible ￡101,204 raised by Trustland and its staff to date, is enough to pay for a 5-night stay in the Butterfly Suite for?102 families?when they need it most.?
Whilst?we can’t?change a?prognosis, we can ensure these children and their families get the care and support they deserve. We can only do this thanks to your generosity, passion and commitment, so on behalf of all our care team, children and their families, thank you Trustland!”

3 个月Absolutely brilliant Jonathan, when I worked in Vauxhalls we heard about the families plight through one of our team members who played in the darts league in New Brighton. We used to have a shop floor raffle called the kids charity through the T&GWU. Money raised sent the kids in various communities to the Christmas pantomime. When we heard about Clairs family and the trauma they where going through it was decided all the weekly charity money raised would go to help the project. We raised thousands for the project and whatever the employees raised the company used to double it. In one particular year we raised ￡150,000 and the company matched it. One Christmas I spent the day dressed as a Santas helper giving the children presents. Just to put a smile on the children's faces is absolutely priceless. Well done to all of you.
