From Shock to Success: How ChatGPT Can Change the Way You Work

I'm always excited to see more people exploring the potential of ChatGPT. If you haven't used it yet, now is the time ????

I’ve been fortunate enough to have been using it since November, and once I got over the initial shock of how this will change everything (and the risks potentially involved) I can see how this technology is disrupting the way we work, deliver service and innovate (it definitely has for me!) ??

I decided to write an article on sharing the top 5 tips for using ChatGPT to make it easier for you:

  1. What is ChatGPT? It is the first natural language programming software that produces a tonne of information at lightning speed, and it can provide answers in a matter of seconds.

  • Tip: If you haven’t used it yet, sign up here (it’s free) and use the prompt: Can you tell me a joke??To see how it works.

2. Using ChatGPT to its fullest potential goes beyond asking questions. Prompting is a required skill which is crucial for the future of work. If you want to stay ahead of the curve, learn all you can about prompting (i'll share more too). After all, ChatGPT is only as effective as the person using it to unlock its full potential.

  • Tip: Keep your prompts concise and clear to get the best out of ChatGPT.

3. Microsoft's launch of the Microsoft Dynamics Copilot: uses ChatGPT technology and is now allowing automation of repetitive tasks in sales, service, marketing, operations, and supply chain roles, empowering you to spend more time on creative and high-value tasks. It includes features like drafting email responses, creating meeting summaries, answering queries, building virtual agents, simplifying workflows, and much more.

  • Tip: To leverage the power of ChatGPT and stay ahead of the game, identify the use cases that align with business needs so you can be ready to develop them. Imagine if you or your team could access all the information they need about your company and HR policies in one central location, without having to sift through piles of paperwork or wait for an email response.

4. ChatGPT has changed the way businesses, teams, and products work, increasing innovation and speed. Use ChatGPT to help solve problems and improve team collaboration because, like I said before, it is only effective as the person prompting it and several minds are better than one.

  • Tip: Think about the use cases for increasing collaboration whilst using ChatGPT. As one example, the utilisation of Microsoft teams to integrate a chatbot specifically for strategic/product innovation will enable businesses and teams to progress at a rapid rate using ChatGPT.

5. ChatGPT is not perfect but it is revolutionary: There have been many conversations about security, privacy and IP and the cases around these will be interesting in time. If you are interested in OpenAI's (the Company that developed ChatGPTs) policies around this read about it here: OpenAI

  • Tip: Get clear on how you want to use ChatGPT at work. It’s a good idea to think about a potential policy implementation if you have a particular view. Also, like anything - validate the information that ChatGPT gives you. There is a lot of contextual information that may be missed and it can be?inaccurate.?

I’m excited to share more, and to launch my first pilot workshop for some select HR practitioners this week, which i’ll share more about soon.

If you are interested in learning more about exploring ChatGPT, whether you have never used it before or are seasoned with it,? please don’t hesitate to get in touch, i’d love to work with you!

In the meantime, follow along and let me know if you've used ChatGPT, or if you haven't, why not? Let's keep the conversation going ????

Ps - ChatGPT and I did work together on this article ??

Great article, Olivia! An HR Policy Chatbot built off GPT-style technology would be such a value add. I’d love to be able ask an internal chatbot what our company policy is on X or how the policy applies in Y situation. Of course, the lawyer in me then gets nervous about the inaccuracies and lack of nuance etc. that we know is still being worked through with this technology!
