From Shell To Shell

Last month, I finished my 7 years with Shell . Sounds like eternity, I still remember the day-1, it was the day between India's 70th Independence day and Rakshabandhan'16. Although, Shell was not new for me as I interened with it already in 2015, and I was supposed to join the same team full time, but still it was a scary entry to corporate world.

The world within looked so real, surrounded by people with years of experience and domain expertise, international experience, different backgrounds - sharing tips and tricks on right corporate attitude, when I first realised only having a brain and ability to do hard-work is not enough.

With many around me, choosing a dynamic worklife, changing jobs, climbing up career ladder every time, I never thought this could be my "first time right" choice. I kept my joining bonus separate, afraid I won't be able to survive for a year and will need to pay the sum back to the company.

And then came the world of opportunities, interesting projects and learning that flew my time like a charm. I have had times, where people around me questioned if this is the right thing to continue, and my answer from laid back attitude initially changed to "sometimes your first choice could also be the the right one" and that's what Shell is for me.

This year also marks a pivot in my Shell career with my upcoming MBA adventure with 欧洲工商管理学院 (INSEAD) this November. It sounds like a challenge managing growing work expectations along with studies but I am excited to face what time brings for me.
