From Service Provider to Coach

I want to share a story with you about a smart woman who had mad skills and went from solely selling her services (done-for-you) to now having a system in place (and the confidence) to selling a program coaching others on what she knows how to do so well.?


She said she had tried to start a course before with another coach but they never got past the strategy side of it . . . she said with me it was so different … I held her accountable every.step.of.the.way.


YUP.


Ask anyone, if you tell me you are going to do something, I am GOING to ask you about it again and if you are working with me we will find new ways to approach the goal until we find a way through it. I always say the water finds a way, we are the water.


It started with a vox from her one morning where she said “I am ready to finally launch a course”.


We started with an outline. It took about 30 minutes to create a seven day launch storyboard together. That is where her last coach ended the conversation and that is so different than our conversation.


Once that part was done, then we walked through the most compelling edits of her sales page and offer stack.?


Then we played out the finer nuances of her live streams, social posts and emails.



She said with her previous coach, who said she specialized in launching, only gave her formulas and outlines but never supported her with all of the granular details as it was unfolding.


That is my favorite part... taking action on a plan.


As her launch was happening, she had me on speed dial to be able to identify who the hottest leads were so that she could connect with them personally. THIS right here is where my clients say I break away from 99% of the pack of coaches who guide business owners through launches.


THAT LAST bit, made all the difference.


See, up until this point, she had been 100% focused on connecting with and converting high ticket 1:1 done-for-you clients. That is what initially brought us together. However, as often happens, once my clients start to see how easy it is to do this using my systems and seeing Planet Internet through my eyes, they know they can do more. Once we started to sell her BRAIN (strategy) and not just her BRAUN (implementation of the work) a light went on that she is worth more than JUST the time she spends working ON a project.


She made $3000 on this small, initial “Duck Launch” (it’s my fun way to test and validate offers) to her new Facebook group of only 25 people.?


Did I mention that she basically had told me that hosting a Facebook group was against her religion?? I asked her to try it in a different way. I do not treat Facebook groups like MOST people … guess what? She LOVED it. Those first 25 people have grown to over 600 people who she knows, and who know her. They tag each other in OTHER Facebook groups and they pass referrals back and forth.?


This was her first launch of anything other than her doing this work for herself... her FIRST program... up until that point, her business was solely leveraged on her doing the work for others. Now she was creating an additional income stream that was scaleable.


Before we created a funnel, before we created ads,? we wanted to validate the offer with her existing audience. Which was TINY. She had not spent months investing thousands growing an audience first. That was a HUGE mindshift she made when we did this together.


The story didn’t end there. Once she validated the offer then we needed to validate the delivery of the offer.


Since she had been doing the work FOR others we wanted to test her delivery in teaching others to do it for themselves with her coaching them.


Would her students get results without her doing the work FOR them?


YES.


It went amazing.


She saw how others were launching programs and could see WHAT they were doing it but she needed someone to work with her side by side on the strategy of selling a program AND the emotional side as well. The CONFIDENCE that this nextstep IS the next best step and that worst case, she would try again.


It was a HUGE BELIEF SHIFT for her to BELIEVE that others would pay her to show them HOW to do something.


NOW, she loves coaching so much (and is great at it because she has truly been in their shoes) that she has shifted more than half of her business model to courses and coaching whereas before it was 100% done-for-you service work where if she ever got sick or wanted to take a vacation, that meant her business wasn’t bringing in any income.?


This makes my heart so happy to share with you!!
