From seed to forest: How we plant trees

Steve Clarke here, Marketing Manager at Fleetmaxx Solutions. I’m excited to share how our partnership with Carma is helping businesses make a significant impact on climate change as we plant trees, native British trees.

Our commitment to sustainability

At Fleetmaxx Solutions, we’re committed to mitigating the impact of climate change through proactive tree-planting initiatives in the UK. Our collaboration with Carma allows us to engage in afforestation and reforestation projects that make a real difference.

We plant trees here in the UK

In the UK, the focus is on creating new woodlands and restoring forests. Carma works closely with the Green Task Force, a group of dedicated veterans who improve the environment and enhance veterans’ well-being through nature-based therapy. This partnership ensures that we plant trees in locations where they will have the most positive impact.

We plant a diverse range of native trees, including Oak, Beech, Birch, Ash, and Willow, to maintain healthy ecosystems and avoid monoculture. Before planting, we conduct a biodiversity survey to assess the site’s conditions, such as soil type, water availability, and sunlight exposure. This ensures that we plant the right trees in the right places for maximum success.

The tree planting process

Our planting process is meticulous. We ensure trees are evenly spaced and placed in properly prepared soil. The roots are carefully positioned, soil is patted down to prevent water seepage, and tree shelters are installed to protect against wildlife and wind.

Overseas tree planting

Internationally, Carma partners with Veritree to plant trees in rainforests around the world. This project not only helps combat deforestation but also supports local communities by creating new habitats for wildlife and improving living conditions. Veritree uses groundbreaking technology, including blockchain, to provide transparency and accountability throughout the planting process. This ensures that their efforts are making a tangible, positive impact.

Corporate tree-planting days

Carma also invites businesses to join us for corporate tree-planting days. These events are not only a great team-building activity but also an opportunity to contribute to environmental sustainability. Companies can engage in meaningful work that supports our mission to absorb carbon and enhance biodiversity.
