• Moving to Vancouver, getting a graduate role in marketing, seeing the building market exploding

• Got his first job on a roofing crew, dad ran a HVAC company, tapped on the shoulder, learned how to job cost, and price work

• Putting together a crew of his own team, and starting his own trade business, growing to 15 employees, approaching 30 years old, wanting to travel

• The fear of the USA housing collapse cooled the property market in Canada

• Applying for roles in Australia once he moved there, saw an ad for a recruitment consultant position

• He and he Co-Founder were working for a large tech and finance recruitment company and were doing well, owned by a publicly traded company, with a M&A strategy that never quite worked as well in reality

• Opening a business in October 2019, four months before the COVID obliterated the market in March 2020

• The sector is very strong in Australia and the talent tech market, but there is only one place you can go from here

• Still being in a stronger market than 2019, but not knowing the contagious fear that might creep into the market, and the anticipation for re-structures?

• Focusing on new client acquisition in 2023, and knowing that they have the capacity to deliver on it, new markets

• Seeing junior employees who want to work at home every day, limiting yourself to only learning through Zoom calls

• Going after the major financial hubs of the APAC market, especially those with high-frequency trading markets, and why they opened a Hong Kong office before opening a Melbourne office
