Hello everyone! ?? We’re back with our weekly newsletter to share the latest updates from our company. Let’s start with some great news: we are doubling our planned investment in the United Kingdom as we continue to led the way in sustainable energy ??. More than ￡24 billion between 2024 and 2028 , two-thirds of which will be allocated to modernizing transmission and distribution networks ?.

Iberdrola is consolidating its position as a leading clean energy company in the United Kingdom , and our Executive?Chairman Ignacio Galán , met with the country's Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, and other members of the Government at the UK’s international investment summit.

In a very busy week for our executive chairman, Ignacio Galán, he was also awarded an honorary doctorate by Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICAI-ICADE for his successful professional career, his pioneering role in green energy, and his commitment to society. Since joining Iberdrola 23 years ago , he has focused on international expansion, electrification ?, and sustainable energy, making the company the leading electric utility in Europe and one of the two largest in the world by market capitalization ????.

???? Historic Highs in Electricity Distribution

Another great piece of news: we have reached historic highs in electricity distribution worldwide ?? by the end of the third quarter, reaching 177,943 GWh, a 2.5% increase compared to the same period last year.

To meet this growing demand, we have once again set a historic high in renewable energy production, surpassing 63,300 Wh, which represents a 7.4% increase ??.

?? These incredible figures are due to investing significantly in our renewable energy portfolio. More proof of our commitment to the energy transition and decarbonization.

Renewables Around the World ??: Spain and the United Kingdom

In our series ‘Renewables Around the World’, today we focus on the joint work between Spain and the United Kingdom. From Bilbao, our partners Haizea Wind Group are preparing the monopiles for the future offshore wind farm in the North Sea, East Anglia Three ??.

These incredible structures have an impressive set of stats:

?? 74 meters in length

?? 10 meters in diameter

?? 1,500 tons in weight

?? East Anglia Three will provide clean energy to 1.3 million families in the United Kingdom and will create more than 2,300 jobs. It will be the second largest offshore wind farm in the world, with 1.4 gigawatts (GW) installed and 95 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines, located 69 kilometers off the coast of Suffolk.

Sustainable Mobility in a Protected Environment ??

The island of Fernando de Noronha, in Brazil, has launched its first 100% electric buggy. Through Neoenergia , we are driving the Green Trail project, an initiative that is expanding sustainable mobility on the island with electric cars intended for local tourism.

The archipelago, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has included 14 vehicles ?? that will not emit CO2 into the atmosphere and will receive clean energy from a new solar plant that we will build there.
