From a recent conversation....

GAL: "I'd like to make more money."

ME: "You may desire more money, but that isn't really what you want."

GAL: "What do you mean?"

ME: "You want what everyone wants. You want to be happy."

GAL: "That's true."

ME: "Do you think that having more money will make you happy?"

GAL: "Yes."

ME: "If money has the ability to make one happy, it should make everyone happy, correct? Similar to the way gravity affects everyone the same regardless of race, gender, age, etc?"

GAL: "Yes."

ME: "Then why do some millionaires and billionaires kill themselves?"

GAL: (silence)

ME: "Interesting, huh? The challenge is that almost everyone you'll ever meet believes - and believes is the operative word - that their internal condition - their feelings and their happiness are a result of acquiring objects, relationships, circumstances, etc when in fact this is not true."

GAL: (silence)

ME: "I can certainly help you make more money. Would you also like to deepen your understanding of life and happiness?"

GAL: "Yes, very much."

ME: "Perhaps let's schedule a few conversations...."

Love people. Serve people. Everything else will work itself out just fine.
