From Rags to Riches: The Inspiring Journey of Mogan Dass

Mogan Dass –?a determined and passionate soul born in 1996 in the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur. Growing up in Kepong, he had to face various challenges, including limited education that ended at the age of 11. While others his age were focusing on academic achievements, Mogan had already ventured into the world of work at just 14 years old.

From assisting in workshops to running daily errands for a few extra coins, Mogan embraced every opportunity that came his way. In 2019, fate led him to FatHopes Energy as a driver assistant, where he quickly showed dedication and a strong work ethic. During his time as an assistant, he discovered a growing interest in becoming an entrepreneur himself. Little did he know that this would be the beginning of an extraordinary chapter in his life.

Determined to pursue his newfound passion, Mogan obtained a GDL license and officially joined the Green Entrepreneur Program at FatHopes Energy in 2022. Initially, he viewed it as a trial to test his commitment to this eco-friendly initiative. However, over the course of almost two years, Mogan's dedication and hard work began to bear fruit.

Fueled by his determination, Mogan embraced every challenge that came his way. He roamed the streets, knocking on doors and visiting restaurants to collect used cooking oil for recycling. With perseverance and a heart full of purpose, he set himself a daunting target of collecting 30 to 50 tonnes of used cooking oil each month and worked tirelessly to achieve it.

The journey was not without its obstacles. Mogan encountered rejection and hardships, but he never faltered. FatHopes Energy's incentives played a crucial role in motivating Mogan on his journey. The mini tanker provided by the company not only facilitated his collections but also served as free advertisement with its captivating stickers and designs, attracting potential clients by piquing their interest.

In the midst of his journey, life dealt Mogan a heavy blow when his beloved father passed away in 2022. As the eldest son, he shouldered the responsibility of being the sole breadwinner for his family, supporting his wife, child, mother, and four siblings who were still in school. The income he earned through the Green Entrepreneur Program played a crucial role in ensuring their well-being and providing for their needs.

“Becoming a Green Entrepreneur is a journey that requires passion and hard work. Everyone can try embarking on this field, but dedication is the heartbeat of this job,” said Mogan.
