From the Precise Technical Staffing Team: AI Jobs are Super Popular Now!

Since ChatGPT came around a year ago, people are still super excited about AI, which stands for artificial intelligence. It's really popular when it comes to jobs.

We saw on the job site Indeed that people looking for AI jobs went up a whole lot – by almost 4,000%! And companies are putting up more job ads for AI work, with a 306% jump from last year.

Even though there aren't as many AI job ads on ZipRecruiter as there were in 2022, there are still a lot more than there were before COVID-19. Julia Pollak, who knows a lot about jobs and the economy, said so.

Guess what? The number one AI job that companies want to hire isn't about building stuff; it's about being a Data Scientist. That means they work with numbers and AI to help businesses make smart choices.

In the last half-year, the job of Data Scientist was the one you saw the most on Indeed and the second most on ZipRecruiter.

Here's why Data Scientists are in demand: companies want to use AI to work better and make customers happy. Trey Causey, who works at Indeed, says that Data Scientists look at a lot of data from AI to help companies make good decisions.

These Data Scientist jobs aren't just for tech companies anymore. Banks, space companies, and TV and news places are all trying to hire them or make new jobs for them. Both ZipRecruiter and Indeed say that's what's happening.

Julia Pollak tells us that at first, companies were hiring AI Data Scientists for short-term jobs to see how it goes. Now, they see that AI is really helpful and are making bigger plans to have AI people on their teams.

To be a Data Scientist, you usually need to finish college with a degree in math, stats, computers, or something like that. But Trey Causey says what you really need are the right skills. You gotta be good at math, understand computers, and be able to talk and manage projects well.

Since AI keeps changing, Data Scientists have to keep learning new things. Causey says that when you're looking for a job in AI, you should show that you keep getting better at what you do.

But, a lot of people who want to be Data Scientists don't talk enough about their other skills – like how good they are at working with others – on their resumes.

Now, the money part: Data Scientists who know AI can make a lot of money, like over $100,000, even if they're just starting. As they get more experience, they can make around $150,000 or more.

There are jobs for senior Data Scientists at big AI companies that pay a lot, sometimes over $200,000 a year. And many of these jobs let you work from home, which is cool.

So, if you want one of these awesome jobs, you need to show that you're really smart, can change when things change, and are excited to work with lots of numbers and machine learning (that's a part of AI).

Precise Technical Staffing is all about connecting people who are good at AI with companies that need them. We're here to help with this big change in jobs because of technology!
