From Plans to Action: Unlocking Success in Your 'What's Next' Journey

A few weeks ago I wrote about coming up with your "What's Next Plan".?The funny thing about plans, is that they can be put aside and forgot about.?Which is a much too common practice, especially when it comes to planning ahead for yourself.
You see, regardless of the change you're initiating or driving, it takes a "What's Next Plan" for you, one that you will implement.?And…
That is often easier said than done.
Implementing your "What's Next Plan", is not so much about what you're doing (though that's important), it's about who you have to become to be successful in your "What's Next".?
One of the criteria for a successful transition (aka change) in "The Successful Leadership Transition Checklist" is to make sure that:
"You're taking steps to become the?you of your "what's next"
What does that look like?
?It's about change, personal change and the growth that comes from it.
However, change…
It's a funny thing.?It's a constant occurrence and something that even those most open to change have resistance to happening.?The interesting thing though is - change happens whether we want it to or not, only most of the time things simply change to more of the same.?Same situations, different people, different places.
For your "What's next" to be successful, and sooner rather than later down the road, it takes conscious attention and forethought.?Fully exploring who you need to become to fully live into your what's next.?For you to experience the joy and ease of your "What's Next", who you are today is not who you will be then.

Conscious inner-growth(change) is much quicker than when it's forced; like landing in your "What's Next" and at some point going "Okay, what now", "This isn't what I expected", or even having Cosmic 2X4 challenges show up that force you to be and do differently.
Here's a way to look at it:
When I was raising my oldest two daughters, I would think about and mentally plan all of the things that I would do when they left home.?Then it happened, I empty nested ( my first time) and I literally didn't know what to do with my free time.?I had all these things I had wanted to do before and didn't want to do them, and didn’t.?It was a challenging time, especially emotionally. It happened because I hadn't prepared my inner-self for the reality I was about to face.
Your position of leadership, as it is currently, is kind of like having kids. It is a constant daily part of your life and then it all changes.?Your life is different.
You can be ready and excited or "oh S%$#t what now".?The question is…
Which will you choose?
