Jenifer Goh is a multifaceted individual: a mother, financial consultant, and healthcare advocate. Driven by a passion for empowering others through knowledge and understanding, she embarked on a journey to improve healthcare accessibility.

Making It All About You

After over a decade in the medical industry, Jennifer had developed a deep understanding of healthcare complexities and was approached by many friends and family who would come to her with their medical related enquiries.

While this sparked something in her, it was Jenifer’s father's battle with stage four cancer that truly motivated her to take action. Witnessing the challenges due to inadequate healthcare and insurance coverage, she saw an urgent need to bridge the gap between the medical and insurance industries.

Determined to make a difference, Jenifer launched "All About You," a talk show providing invaluable medical information, dispelling myths, and offering practical advice. By hosting medical professionals, she creates a space for individuals to access expert knowledge and make informed health decisions. Her ultimate goal? A healthier, more empowered society.

By combining her expertise in finance and healthcare, Jenifer desires to help her clients and friends. Through her podcasts on “All About You”, Jenifer also aims to dispel misconceptions about health dos and don’ts, something she believes healthy discussions invite and allow for. Topics include corrective eye surgeries, health screening tips and good eating habits.?

Investing in Your Values

Her passion for insurance is seen in her desire to educate and equip younger individuals who may not have the know-how nor the exposure to accurate and customized information for their personal needs or life goals.?

“With growing interest in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) across companies, institutions and individuals, there are now more opportunities for people to invest in what they believe in. I look forward to supporting my clients to invest in ways that align with their values while being in the position to potentially achieve desirable returns.”?

As a seasoned financial advisor, Jenifer is excited about the future of financial planning. She sees advancements in AI and analytics enabling more personalised and effective strategies. Emerging market opportunities and sustainable investing trends offer new avenues for clients to diversify portfolios and align investments with their values.

Learning and Developing in Expertise

Jenifer shares that she brings her best self to every interaction with her clients, and places emphasis on thoughtfulness and empathy while carrying out her responsibilities effectively.? But there were hard lessons to learn from in her early years in the industry. She shared a mistake she made early in her career: She had recommended a high-risk investment to a client without a more extensive exploration of that client's risk profile and longer-term goals. Thankfully, the investment itself had strong potential returns.

Jenifer realized on hindsight that the investment was a cause for undue stress when the markets became volatile, as it was not fully aligned to her client's longer term goals. She learnt from that instance and took extra care to explore deeply what clients and potential clients were planning ahead for as that gave her more handles on understanding their investment goals and desired risks to undertake. She shares that keeping her eyes and ears clued in to how best to service and support her clients has helped her in her refined approach to creating the solutions they need and want.

This can also be seen in Jenifer's approach and commitment to financial education.

Having experienced how her father - due to lack of early diagnosis and early screening - had only six months left when they found out about his cancer, Jenifer is adamant on equipping yourself with the knowledge on healthcare issues. She knows firsthand the importance of early intervention that would be possible with regular checks and medical advice. With her relevant industry experience, Jenifer also has plans to expand her initiatives with seminars and workshops on market trends, financial planning, and investment strategies. Additionally, she shared that she envisions organizing health seminars led by medical professionals, addressing the evolving healthcare landscape and the importance of early detection.?

She shared, “Many individuals underestimate the financial impact of unexpected events. Insurance provides a crucial safety net that can prevent significant financial hardship in the event of major health issues, accidents, or other unforeseen circumstances.”
