From Panels to Fireside Chats: What to expect at OTT Question Time Live 2025

The global streaming landscape is entering a pivotal chapter, and OTT Question Time Live 2025 stands as a cornerstone event for navigating this dynamic space. Hosted at the iconic British Museum, London, on January 28th and 29th, this year’s gathering is a powerhouse of ideas, innovation, and collaboration. With 50+ speakers, 16 fireside chats, 10 panels, and attendees from over 150 broadcasters, content owners, and service providers, the stage is set for impactful conversations that will define the future of OTT.

This edition of The Redholt Pulse and Play dives into why OTTQTL25 is a must-attend event for industry professionals. The conference will feature top voices from 亚马逊 , 谷歌 , BBC , NBCUniversal , Paramount , ITV , Warner Bros. Discovery , YouTube , OpenAI , and more. These experts will unpack their strategies for launching and scaling streaming products, monetising content, and leveraging cutting-edge technologies like AI, Adtech, and Content Recommendation.

From one-on-one fireside chats that provide deep insights into the methodologies of OTT leaders to vendor showcases that spotlight the latest solutions shaping the industry, this event is tailored for those who seek actionable takeaways and practical knowledge. Attendees can also expect invaluable networking opportunities to connect with peers, exchange ideas, and build partnerships that drive growth.

In this edition, we’re thrilled to feature insights from Kauser Kanji , the visionary founder of OTT Question Time Live and host, who shares what makes this event unique, the value it brings to attendees, and how it fosters meaningful dialogue among streaming professionals.

For those passionate about being at the forefront of the streaming revolution, OTT Question Time Live 2025 is more than just a conference—it’s the ultimate platform to learn, connect, and lead in an ever-evolving industry.

1. What inspired you to start OTT Question Time Live, and how has the event evolved since its inception?

Kauser: The genesis for our OTT Question Time Live event was actually the 2020 COVID pandemic. At the start of the first lockdown that year, and as we were all stuck at home, I started a debate show on Zoom called OTT Question Time via which people in the industry could share what business strategies they were implementing to keep their broadcast and streaming operations running, what trends, if any, they were seeing (you’ll remember that TV and OTT viewing skyrocketed during that period), and how they were coping over, personally as well as professionally, in that crazy new environment.

?When the world opened up again, it made sense to expand the brand and organise an in-person conference. Thus OTT Question Time Live.

2. With over 50 speakers from global OTT leaders, what trends or challenges do you see dominating the industry in 2025??

Kauser: I've been working in online video since 2005 formerly at NBCU and Virgin Media, before setting up VOD Professional in 2011, and over that time, we can see how the industry has developed in ebbs and flows.

?To aggregate (e.g. Hulu), go D2C (BBC iPlayer, 4oD, ITVX), and come back together again (BritBox). The apparently unstoppable march of SVOD halted, somewhat, by the AVOD renaissance. Selling content to Netflix and Amazon, subsequently creating walled gardens (“what have we done?!”), and the final realisation that content is promiscuous and, on the whole, doesn’t want to be contained to specific platforms.

?In a similar vein, one of this year’s big trends is Back to the Future – what we can learn from the old TV (Broadcast 1.0) model that was so successful for so many years. We’re talking about things like live TV, appointment to view, and relative (or manufactured) scarcity of content.

?The other thing I suspect we’ll all be discussing is how YouTube – having invested in live and premium content, with its focus on signing up broadcaster partners, and its multi-demographic audience – is the real winner of The Streaming Wars.

3. For those new to OTT Question Time Live, what sets it apart from other industry conferences?

Kauser: I think there are three things.

  1. It’s an “applied” event in the sense that for me, and for our audience I think, we’re always trying to learn how to get things done: how to build and maintain brilliant streaming services, how to delight viewers and give them the best experiences we can, how to maximise revenues and efficiencies. Whether we’re talking to Kerensa Samanidis , the GM of BBC iPlayer, Jane Stiller , the new Chief Viewer Officer at ITV, or Tushar Jindal , Amazon Prime Video’s Head of Content UK & Ireland (all of whom are speaking at OTTQTL25 at the end of January), the focus is always on understanding how we can translate their insights into actionable strategies; real-world takeaways that attendees can apply to their own businesses.
  2. The intimacy between our speakers and audience. OTT Question Time Live is regarded as a safe space environment by our speakers where they can talk about their successes - and failures! - without judgment. That’s because broadcasters, streamers, content owners, film studios, production companies and even industry vendors, have faced similar challenges and opportunities. They’ve literally been creating a new industry, a new world, over the past 20 years and so they're really just sharing notes with fellow explorers.
  3. And the format. We love conversations at?OTT Question Time?Live?which is why almost all of our sessions are fireside chats or panels. Again, this helps foster intimacy and lets us go deep into learning about our speakers and the work they do.

Great article and couldn’t agree more about the unique event that OTTQTL is in the conference calendar. Thrilled to be speaking with Chris on a topic that is unfortunately too relevant at the moment and sharing some of the insights I’ve learnt as both an employer and employee over the last 20 years in the media business.
