From Overwhelm to Bold Confidence - The Soulfire Method

The start of a new year can feel like a blank slate. But for many, the excitement of a fresh start is quickly overshadowed by familiar patterns - overwhelm, self-doubt, and the sense of being stuck in the same cycles. I know that feeling well because I’ve been there myself.

There was a time in my life when, outwardly, I seemed to have it all together. I had built a successful career as an actuary, I had a wonderful family and a beautiful home, but inside, I was struggling. I found myself constantly questioning whether I was “good enough” and driving myself harder and harder to prove my worth.

For a long time, I thought the answer was simply to achieve more - hit the next goal, get the next promotion, change to a new role. If I could just hit that next milestone, then I’d get to feel fulfilled. But the truth was, the more I achieved, the emptier I felt and the more exhausted I became. It wasn’t until I started working with a coach that I began to understand: the way I was approaching my life and work wasn’t sustainable - or aligned with who I truly wanted to be.

That experience led me to where I am today, and it inspired me to create The Soulfire Method. This framework distils everything I’ve learned - both in my personal transformation and in coaching others - into a step-by-step process for moving from overwhelm to bold confidence.


The 5 Phases of The Soulfire Method

  1. Shift Your Foundations The first step is uncovering the beliefs and values driving your actions. These are often so ingrained that we don’t realise they’re shaping every decision we make. Are they serving you - or holding you back? For me, this meant confronting the belief that I had to be perfect to be worthy. Letting go of that belief wasn’t easy, but it was essential. For Sarah, one of my clients, it was about recognising her belief that to be doing even just ‘ok’ she had to be doing more and working harder than everyone else. That belief had her working late and also waking up at 3am to send herself reminders, terrified she’d miss something at work or fall behind. Once she understood and shifted that belief, she felt an immediate sense of relief and freedom.
  2. Own Your Authentic Self Once you’ve cleared away the noise of limiting beliefs, you can reconnect with who you truly are. This phase is about stepping into your strengths, finding your inner power, and letting go of the masks you’ve been wearing to fit in. I’ve seen this phase transform the way women approach both their personal and professional lives. When you’re connected to your authentic self, you’re not just showing up - you’re thriving. For me, owning my authentic self meant letting go of the fear of making any mistakes and allowing myself to lead with honesty and vulnerability.
  3. Unlock Your Inner Vision Goals are important, but they’re not enough on their own. This phase combines goal-setting with intentions and aligned values, creating a clear and energising vision for the future. It’s about understanding not just what you want, but why it matters and how you want to get there. We’re often given our goals for the year at work but even when we set them for ourselves we often do it without connecting them to our values or intentions. It can make everything feel like a checklist - soulless and exhausting. But when you align your vision with what truly matters to you, every step feels purposeful.
  4. Leverage Bold Action Change happens when you step into action, but bold doesn’t have to mean hard. It’s about taking meaningful, aligned steps that feel powerful and achievable. For many of my clients, bold action means stepping out of the “I must do it all” mindset and allowing themselves to ask for support. When we do this, we end up doing less but having a greater impact and we get to find more space, ease and fulfilment in what we achieve.
  5. Fuel Inner Resilience Every Day Confidence isn’t built overnight - it’s sustained through daily habits and routines that support your energy, focus, and well-being. This phase is about creating the foundation that allows you to continue to show up consistently as your best self. For me and for many of my clients, this looks like setting boundaries, honouring my time, and prioritising practices that keep me aligned and energised.


Katie’s Transformation

Katie came to me feeling completely overwhelmed. Work had consumed her life - she was waking up in the middle of the night, emailing herself reminders, and constantly worrying about letting people down. She thought the solution was to change her job, but as we worked together, she realised it wasn’t her role that needed to change - it was her approach to it.

Through The Soulfire Method, Katie shifted her foundation and let go of the belief that her worth was tied to constant recognition. This one change created a ripple effect. She found fulfilment and joy in her work again, established better boundaries, and even discovered new energy for her personal life.
